Same Color in View and colorEffect shader argument produce different results
Opened feedback item FB21877364. Context I have the following Metal shader, which replaces one color with another. [[ stitchable ]] half4 recolor( float2 position, half4 currentColor, half4 from, half4 to ) { if (all(currentColor == from)) return to; return currentColor; } Given this SwiftUI view: let shader = ShaderLibrary.recolor(.color(.red), .color(.green)) Color.red .colorEffect(shader) I get a red rectangle instead of the expected green one. Note that this works on both dynamic and non-dynamic colors. Note that this sometimes works with some colors, which is very inconvenient when trying to figure out what's going on. Did I miss something? I would've expected the shader to work with colors the same way. Issue To really highlight the issue, here's another test case. I'll define #94877E in an Asset Catalog as example and check the RGB values using the Digital Color Meter app in "Display native values" mode. We'll use the following shader to determine how colorEffect receives colors: [[ stitchable ]] half4 test( float2 position, half4 currentColor, half4 color ) { return color; } The following view yields "R: 0.572, G: 0.531, B: 0.498". Color.example While this one yields "R: 0.572, G: 0.531, B: 0.499". let shader = ShaderLibrary.test(.color(Color.example)) Color.white.colorEffect(shader) I would expect them to match.

Authentication issue from Expo EAS CLI
Hello, I am experiencing an authentication issue when submitting my Expo iOS app to App Store Connect using the Expo EAS CLI from the terminal. The exact flow is as follows: I run the submit command in the terminal. I am prompted to enter my Apple ID. After entering the Apple ID, I am prompted to enter my Apple ID password. After the password is accepted, I am prompted to enter a 6-digit verification code. I receive the 6-digit code immediately via SMS or phone call. I enter the code correctly and immediately, but the CLI always returns “Invalid code.” This happens every time. Important notes: The Apple ID and password are correct. The 6-digit code is entered immediately and exactly as received. Logging in to App Store Connect via a web browser with the same Apple ID, password, and SMS code works without any issue. The problem only occurs when authenticating through the terminal using Expo EAS CLI. Could you please advise why the verification code is being rejected in the CLI and how I can successfully authenticate and submit my app?

Repeated NUIdentifier crash
Some of our app's users are repeatedly running into a crash on NeutrinoCore -[NUIdentifier initWithNamespace:name:version:] + 2352. It looks from the stack trace like multiple threads are performing PHFetchRequests, but that shouldn't be causing a crash. It's isolated to a small number of users, which makes me think that it's something related to their specific Photos databases (e.g., data corruption.) Do you have any suggestions how I might be able to resolve this? 2 libsystem_c.dylib abort + 124 3 NeutrinoCore -[NUAssertionPolicyCrashReport notifyAssertion:] + 66 4 NeutrinoCore -[NUAssertionPolicyComposite notifyAssertion:] + 160 5 NeutrinoCore -[NUAssertionPolicyUnique notifyAssertion:] + 176 6 NeutrinoCore -[NUAssertionHandler handleFailureInFunction:file:lineNumber:currentlyExecutingJobName:description:arguments:] + 156 7 NeutrinoCore _NUAssertFailHandler + 176 8 NeutrinoCore -[NUIdentifier initWithNamespace:name:version:] + 2352 9 NeutrinoCore -[NUIdentifier initWithName:version:] + 84 10 NeutrinoCore -[NUIdentifier initWithName:] + 68 11 PhotoImaging +[PISchema identifier] + 36 12 PhotoImaging +[PISchema registeredPhotosSchemaIdentifier] + 32 13 PhotoImaging +[PIPhotoEditHelper newComposition] + 28 14 PhotoImaging +[PICompositionSerializer deserializeCompositionFromAdjustments:metadata:formatIdentifier:formatVersion:sidecarData:error:] + 160 15 PhotoImaging +[PICompositionSerializer deserializeCompositionFromData:formatIdentifier:formatVersion:sidecarData:error:] + 224 16 PhotoLibraryServices -[PLPhotoEditPersistenceManager loadCompositionFrom:formatIdentifier:formatVersion:sidecarData:error:] + 1848 17 PhotoLibraryServices +[PLPhotoEditPersistenceManager validateAdjustmentData:formatIdentifier:formatVersion:error:] + 108 18 Photos __167+[PHContentEditingInputRequestContext contentEditingInputRequestContextForAsset:requestID:managerID:networkAccessAllowed:downloadIntent:progressHandler:resultHandler:]_block_invoke + 260 19 Photos -[PHAdjustmentData(ContentEditingInput) _contentEditing_readableByClientWithVerificationBlock:] + 136 20 Photos -[PHAdjustmentData(ContentEditingInput) _contentEditing_requiredBaseVersionReadableByClient:verificationBlock:] + 88 21 Photos -[PHContentEditingInputRequestContext _adjustmentBaseVersionFromResult:request:canHandleAdjustmentData:] + 356 22 Photos -[PHContentEditingInputRequestContext produceChildRequestsForRequest:reportingIsLocallyAvailable:isDegraded:result:] + 624 23 Photos -[PHMediaRequestContext _produceChildRequestsForRequest:withResult:] + 88 24 Photos -[PHMediaRequestContext mediaRequest:didFinishWithResult:] + 92 25 Photos -[PHAdjustmentDataRequest _finishFromAsynchronousCallback] + 124 26 Photos __39-[PHAdjustmentDataRequest startRequest]_block_invoke + 584 27 PhotoLibraryServicesCore __106-[PLAssetsdResourceClient adjustmentDataForAsset:networkAccessAllowed:trackCPLDownload:completionHandler:]block_invoke.84 + 880 28 CoreFoundation invoking + 148 29 CoreFoundation -[NSInvocation invoke] + 424 30 Foundation <deduplicated_symbol> + 16 31 Foundation -[NSXPCConnection _decodeAndInvokeReplyBlockWithEvent:sequence:replyInfo:] + 528 32 Foundation __88-[NSXPCConnection _sendInvocation:orArguments:count:methodSignature:selector:withProxy:]_block_invoke_5 + 188 33 libxpc.dylib _xpc_connection_reply_callout + 124 42 libsystem_pthread.dylib start_wqthread + 8

Keeping PiP alive during third-party video recording (camera capture)
I’m building a teleprompter-style app that relies on Picture in Picture. PiP starts correctly on device. Everything works — until another app (e.g. TikTok / Instagram) starts active video recording. When camera capture begins in the foreground app, iOS terminates my PiP session. Some teleprompter apps appear to keep PiP active while recording in other apps, so I’m trying to understand the recommended architectural pattern for this scenario. Is there a documented approach or best practice to keep PiP stable during third-party camera capture? Looking specifically for guidance on the correct AVKit / AVAudioSession configuration for this use case.

Which characters in filenames cause iCloud document sync issues?
Apple's iCloud File Management documentation says to "avoid special punctuation or other special characters" in filenames, but doesn't specify which characters. I need a definitive list to implement filename sanitization in my shipping app. Confirmed issues Our iOS app (CyberTuner, App Store, 15 years shipping on App Store) manages .rcta files in the iCloud ubiquity container via NSFileManager APIs. We've confirmed two characters causing sync failures: Ampersand (&): A file named Yamaha CP70 & CP80.rcta caused repeated "couldn't be backed up" dialogs. ~12 users reported this independently. Replacing & resolved it immediately. No other files in the same directory were affected. Percent (%): A file with % in the filename was duplicated by iCloud sync (e.g., filename% 1.rcta, filename% 2.rcta), and the original was lost. Currently reproducing across multiple devices. Both characters have special meaning in URL encoding (% is the escape character, & is the query parameter separator), which suggests the issue may be in URL handling within the sync pipeline. What I'm looking for: A definitive list of characters that cause problems in the iCloud sync pipeline specifically — not APFS restrictions, but CloudDocs/FileProvider/server-side issues. Confirmation whether these characters are problematic: & % # ? + / : * " < > | Is there a system API for validating or sanitizing filenames for iCloud compatibility before writing to the ubiquity container? Our users are piano technicians who naturally name files "Steinway & Sons" — we need to know exactly what to sanitize rather than guessing. Environment: iOS 17–26, Xcode 26.1, APFS, NSFileManager ubiquity container APIs Bundle FEEDBACK ASSISTANT ID FB21900837

UAC 2.0 Channel Count and Channel Names
I am developing a standard UAC 2.0 device and encountered an issue where the channel names do not update according to the iChannelNames field in the Class Specific AS Interface Descriptor when switching between different channel counts. For example: AS1 (6 channels) is configured with the following channel names: ADAT 1, ADAT 2, ADAT 3, ADAT 4, HP L, HP R AS2 (4 channels) is configured with: ADAT 1, ADAT 2, HP L, HP R However, when switching from AS1 (6 channels) to AS2 (4 channels), the channel names displayed in Audio MIDI Setup do not reflect the change as expected. The actual result is: ADAT 1, ADAT 2, ADAT 3, ADAT 4 The system simply hides the last two channels; the names of the remaining channels are not updated. Initial Topology My original topology was as follows: Later, I discovered that macOS uses the iChannelNames field from the Input Terminal to display channel names. Therefore, I modified the USB device descriptors and updated the topology to the following: To distinguish the channel names for different channel counts, each Input Terminal is assigned a unique iChannelNames value. This method worked perfectly on macOS 15. However, after updating to macOS 26, this topology no longer displays the correct channel names. Question On macOS 26, what is the correct method to ensure that the channel names update dynamically when switching between different audio channel configurations?

In-App Purchases not loading in production / TestFlight — Previously missing Paid Apps Agreement — App rejected under Guideline 3.1.2
Hello, My app was rejected on iPad (iPad Air 11-inch M3, iPadOS 26.2.1) with two related issues: Guideline 2.1 – Performance – App Completeness “The app exhibited one or more bugs that would negatively impact users. Bug description: the premium subscription cannot be loaded properly.” Guideline 3.1.2 – Business – Payments – Subscriptions “The submission did not include all the required information for apps offering auto-renewable subscriptions.” I am using StoreKit 2 with SubscriptionStoreView to present the auto-renewable subscription. During development: Subscriptions load correctly in the simulator (sandbox). On real devices, I test without a local StoreKit configuration file to fetch products from App Store Connect. The subscription UI (title, duration, price) displays correctly when products are returned. At the time of review, the Paid Apps Agreement was not active. I suspect this may have caused the subscription products to fail loading on the review device. Since then: Paid Apps Agreement is now Active. SubscriptionStoreView should automatically show required metadata. Because the subscription failed to load on iPad during review, the required information (title, price, duration) was not visible, which likely triggered the 3.1.2 rejection. Additionally, in TestFlight I sometimes see inconsistent behavior where the app appears but cannot be installed (“App Not Available”). Also, my app was rejected, but the subscription is still waiting for review. I would really appreciate guidance on the following: Am I potentially missing any required configuration that could prevent products from loading in production? Is there any propagation delay after activating the Paid Apps Agreement that could affect product availability? If I am overlooking something in configuration or testing, please let me know what I should specifically verify before resubmitting. Thank you very much for your help.

Basics - Dice Demo, calculate total score
I've worked through Apple's dice demo for SwiftUI, so far so good. I've got a single Die view with a button to "roll" the die. This works perfectly using the code below: struct DieView: View { init(dieType: DieType) { self.dieValue = Int.random(in: 1...dieType.rawValue) self.dieType = dieType } @State private var dieValue: Int @State private var dieType: DieType var body: some View { VStack { if self.dieType == DieType.D6 { Image(systemName: "die.face.\(dieValue)") .resizable() .frame(width: 100, height: 100) .padding() } else {//self.dieType == DieType.D12{ Text("\(self.dieValue)") .font(.largeTitle) } Button("Roll"){ withAnimation{ dieValue = Int.random(in: 1...dieType.rawValue) } } .buttonStyle(.bordered) } Spacer() } } Now I want to do a DiceSetView with an arbitrary number of dice. I've got the UI working with the following; struct DiceSetView: View { @State private var totalScore: Int = 0 var body: some View { ScrollView(.horizontal) { HStack{ DieView(dieType: DieType.D6) DieView(dieType: DieType.D6) DieView(dieType: DieType.D6) } } HStack{ Button("Roll All"){} .buttonStyle(.bordered) Text("Score \(totalScore)") .font(.callout) } Spacer() } } Where I'm struggling is how to get the total of all the dice in a set and to roll all the dice in a set on a button click. I can't iterate through the dice, and just "click" the buttons in the child views from their parents, and I can't think how it should be structured to achieve this (I'm new to this style of programming!) - can anyone point me in the right direction for how to achieve what I want? I realise that I'm probably missing something fundamentally conceptual here....

Inquiry Regarding the Mandatory SDK Version Deadline for App Store Connect
Hello, When I recently distributed my app, I received the following warning message: "Starting April 2026, all visionOS apps must be built with the visionOS 26 SDK or later, included in Xcode 26 or later, in order to be uploaded to App Store Connect or submitted for distribution." However, the Apple Developer News page dated February 3 (https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=ueeok6yw) states that apps submitted to the App Store must meet the version 26 requirement starting April 28, 2026. I need to clarify whether the mandatory enforcement begins on April 1, 2026, or April 28, 2026. As the major specification changes in version 26 are significantly impacting our current app development, the exact deadline is critical for us to determine our updated development schedule. https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/814892 Thank you.

macOS: Is ARKit-equivalent face tracking possible with an external camera?
Hello, I am an individual developer working on a macOS application using SwiftUI and RealityKit. I would like to understand the feasibility of face-related tracking on macOS when using an external USB camera, compared to iOS/iPadOS. Specifically: • Does macOS provide an ARKit Face Tracking–equivalent API (e.g., real-time facial expressions, gaze direction, depth)? • If not, is it common to rely on Vision / AVFoundation as alternatives for: • Facial expression coefficients • Gaze estimation • Depth approximation • In an environment without dedicated sensors such as TrueDepth, is it correct to assume that accurate depth data and high-fidelity blend shape extraction are realistically difficult? Any clarification on official limitations, recommended alternatives, or relevant documentation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Determining the number of missed calls.
In iOS 18, when a contact with multiple phone numbers called, the system clearly indicated which specific number was used—often by highlighting it in red for missed calls or tagging it as 'recent.' However, in iOS 26, this distinction is missing, and there is no way to determine which of the contact's numbers the call originated from.

External Keyboard DatePicker Issues
I am currently trying to get my app ready for full external keyboard support, while testing I found an issue with the native DatePicker. Whenever I enter the DatePicker with an external keyboard it only jumps to the time picker and I am not able to move away from it. Arrow keys don't work, tab and control + tab only move me to the toolbar and back. This is how they look like private var datePicker: some View { DatePicker( "", selection: date, in: minDate..., displayedComponents: [.date] ) .fixedSize() .accessibilityIdentifier("\(datePickerLabel).DatePicker") } private var timePicker: some View { DatePicker( "", selection: date, in: minDate..., displayedComponents: [.hourAndMinute] ) .fixedSize() .accessibilityIdentifier("\(datePickerLabel).TimePicker") } private var datePickerLabelView: some View { Text(datePickerLabel.localizedString) .accessibilityIdentifier(datePickerLabel) } And we implement it like this in the view: HStack { datePickerLabelView Spacer() datePicker timePicker } Does anyone know how to fix this behavior? Is it our fault or is it the system? The issue comes up both in iOS 18 and 26.

Unable to select a scene for preview in the SpriteKit actions editor
I am just starting to learn SpriteKit and I'm having trouble selecting a scene to preview an action in the actions editor. I created a new macOS Game project (Language: Swift, Game Technology: SpriteKit). When I open the generated 'Actions.sks' file, I see the message "No Preview Scene Selected" in the editor. I see the 'GameScene.sks' scene listed in the "Select..." control in the lower right, but it is greyed out. I'm not able to figure out how to select a scene to preview the action. I'm running Xcode 26.2 on macOS 15. Thanks very much for the help.
