AlarmKit - On non-Dynamic Island devices, when the screen is on, tapping the alarm banner has no response.
Issue Description: On non-Dynamic Island devices, when the screen is on, tapping the alarm banner does not open the app or trigger any action. Steps to Reproduce: Set a regular alarm. Wait until the alarm goes off. Keep the screen on. A banner appears with options (e.g., dismiss or a secondary action). Tap anywhere on the banner area that would normally open the app. Expected Behavior: Tapping the banner should open the app. Actual Behavior: Tapping the banner has no response.

Video in "Made for iPad" apps on macOS
I'm relatively new to Swift development (and native iOS development for that matter) I've got an iOS app that uses the iPhone / iPad built in cameras, and am looking to make this more compatible with macOS. Using the normal AVCaptureDevice.DiscoverySession I seem to get the iPhone Continuity Camera and the in-built MacBook Pro camera but I don't see other input devices that I see in QuickTime Player (for example) such as connected external cameras or Virtual Inputs provided by NDI Virtual Input and OBS. Is there a way to see access these without a specific Mac build (as the rest of the functionality works great, and I'd rather not diverge the codebase too much as it's easier to update one app than two!

Sample code not working as expected: Implementing SharePlay for immersive spaces in visionOS
The following sample code project does not seem to work as expected: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/visionos/implementing-shareplay-for-immersive-spaces-in-visionos Have tried to get this project working with a client, but while we were able to see nearby users and make facetime calls, the color changing cube experience always remained a single color. Are there step-by-step instructions that Apple has used to verify this sample code so I can try to recreate this sample code's expected behavior for both nearby participants and those in a Facetime call?

iBeacon Monitoring in Flutter App: Background Wake-Up from Killed State, Time Limits for BLE, and Handling Multiple Regions/Identifiers
Hello Apple Developer Community, I'm developing a cross-platform app using Flutter and the flutter_beacon library to handle iBeacon detection on iOS. My goal is to wake up the app in the background when it's in a killed/terminated state upon entering/exiting beacon regions, allowing for BLE communication (e.g., ranging or connecting to beacons). I've configured the necessary Info.plist keys for always location access and background location modes, and it works partially for single regions, but I have some specific questions/issues regarding reliability and limitations: Background Execution Time After Wake-Up: When the app is woken in the background by a region monitoring event (enter/exit) from a killed state, approximately how much time (in seconds) does iOS allocate for the app to run before suspending it again? Is this sufficient for performing BLE operations like ranging beacons or establishing a short connection, or are there stricter limits in terminated wake-ups compared to standard background modes? Monitoring Multiple iBeacons with Unique Identifiers: I need to monitor multiple iBeacon devices, each with potentially different UUIDs, majors, and minors. Can I add and monitor up to 20 regions simultaneously, each with a unique string identifier? If multiple beacons (from different regions) enter their respective ranges at around the same time, will the app receive separate callbacks for each region/identifier, or is there coalescing/prioritization that might cause only the last-added identifier to trigger notifications/events? Reliability in Killed State: In a fully killed state (e.g., force-quit via app switcher), does iOS reliably relaunch the app in the background for region monitoring events? Are there any known caveats, such as requiring specific hardware (e.g., iPhone models with certain Bluetooth chips) or iOS versions (targeting iOS 14+), and how does this interact with Flutter's background execution handling via the flutter_beacon library?

NSTableView/NSScrollView jumping scroll position during NSSplitView resize
This is a very basic macOS Finder-style test app using AppKit. I am experiencing a "jump" in the vertical scroll position of my NSTableView (inside an NSScrollView) specifically when the window is resized horizontally. This happens when columns are visually added or removed. Framework: AppKit (Cocoa) Xcode/macOS: 26.2 Code: https://github.com/MorusPatre/Binder/blob/main/ContentView%20-%20Scroll%20Jump%20during%20Resize.swift

Any alternative to use Private API's in mac App store Application
I understand that private APIs are not permitted under Apple’s App Review Guidelines. However, our application requires I²C communication, and we are currently using the following APIs: IOAVServiceReadI2C IOAVServiceWriteI2C IOI2CSendRequest.These api's are not permitted by apple. I didnt found any alternative public api to achieve I²C communication. please suggest any public api's for the same or any chance to use this private api.

Notification Sound Not Routing to Bluetooth / External Speakers Consistently
Hello Apple Developer Support, We are observing inconsistent behavior with push notification sounds routing to Bluetooth / external speakers. Our app sends push notifications with a custom sound file using the sound parameter in the APNs payload. When an iPhone is connected to a Bluetooth speaker or headphones: On some devices, the notification sound plays through the connected Bluetooth/external speaker. On other devices, the notification sound plays only through the iPhone’s built-in speaker. We also tested with native apps like iMessage and noticed similar behavior — in some cases, notification sounds still play through the phone speaker even when Bluetooth is connected. Media playback (e.g., YouTube or Music) routes correctly to Bluetooth, so the connection itself is functioning properly. We would like clarification on the following: Is this routing behavior expected for push notification sounds? Are notification sounds intentionally restricted from routing to Bluetooth in certain conditions (e.g., device locked, system policy, audio session state)? Is there any supported way to ensure notification sounds consistently route through connected Bluetooth/external speakers? The inconsistent behavior across devices makes it difficult to determine whether this is by design or a configuration issue. Thank you for your guidance.

Guideline 5.1.2(i) - Clarification on AI service consent for kids educational app
Our children's educational app (COPPA-compliant) was rejected under Guidelines 5.1.1(i) and 5.1.2(i) for sharing personal data with a third-party AI service without clear disclosure and user permission. How our app works: Our app is an AI-powered learning assistant for kids. Children type questions (e.g., "Why is the sky blue?") and the app sends the question to Google Gemini's API to generate an age-appropriate answer. This is the core and only purpose of the app — it's an AI chat app, similar to how a search engine sends queries to its servers. Our current setup: Google Gemini operates as a data processor (not a data recipient) — zero data retention, no model training on user data Our privacy policy already discloses Google Gemini as the AI provider, what data is processed, and that no data is stored The app is clearly marketed as an AI-powered assistant — users understand they are interacting with AI Our questions: Infrastructure vs. data sharing: We use Google Gemini to process queries the same way we use Google Sign-In for authentication, MongoDB Atlas for our database, and Railway for hosting. In all cases, user data passes through a third-party service to provide core functionality. Is the expectation that AI services require additional consent beyond what's expected for other third-party infrastructure services? If so, what distinguishes them? 2. Minimum consent implementation: If in-app consent is required, what constitutes sufficient "explicit permission"? Specifically: - Is a simple alert dialog (similar to the ATT prompt) with "Allow" / "Not Now" before first use sufficient? - Or is a more detailed consent screen with checkboxes/toggles required? - Since our app's sole purpose is AI-powered Q&A, what should happen if the user taps "Not Now"? The app cannot function without the AI service. 3. Privacy policy disclosure: Our privacy policy already identifies Google Gemini by name, describes what data is sent (child's questions, name, and age for personalization), and explains Google's zero-retention policy. Is updating the privacy policy alone sufficient, or is a separate in-app consent mechanism always required under 5.1.2(i)? 4. Children's apps specifically: Since parents set up the app (behind a parental gate), should the consent be presented to the parent during setup, or does it need to appear elsewhere? Any guidance on the minimum compliant implementation would be greatly appreciated. We want to get this right. Thank you.

Transparent segmented control
There is no way to make an instance of UISegmentedControl transparent like it's done in Photos or Camera. Especially it looks wrong when segmented control is put to a Liquid Glass container. Setting background colour to nil or clear does not help If a transparent image is set as a background image for state and bar metrics, it kills liquid glass selection and segments started to look wrong How can the standard gray-ish background can be removed?

CKShare(rootRecord:) Returns Share with Nil Root Even When All CloudKit Best Practices Followed (iOS 26.2.1)
I’m seeing an issue with CloudKit sharing in iOS 26.2.1: When I call CKShare(rootRecord:) with a brand-new record in a fresh custom zone, the share is created with no root attached (rootFromShare == nil). After saving both the root and share in a single CKModifyRecordsOperation, fetching the share from the server still shows no root reference (rootRecordID == nil). No errors are thrown, but sharing simply fails. Key facts: • Custom zone created and confirmed (sharing enabled, capsRaw=7/15) • Brand-new record type and fresh IDs each run • Never reusing records or shares • Saving both root and share together in one operation • No default zone usage; always custom private zone Tested: • Multiple devices, iCloud accounts, and app versions • Both simulator and physical device Debug logs consistently show: • SHARE_CREATE_SHARE_LOCAL ... rootFromShare=nil • After save/fetch: rootRecordID=nil on server Has anyone seen this? Is there a new CloudKit regression in iOS 26.x, or am I missing something subtle? Minimal sample project and full debug logs available if needed. Any insights or workarounds would be hugely appreciated!

Blockchain question
I’m a normie: not a developer at all. My idea might be super dumb. Would it be possible to please let us have a button in iphone photos that when toggled allows us to save certain chosen raw images to an iphone block chain, AND have Apple authenticate they are native photos, marked the milisecond they were taken, that they are native and no AI was used on those images? That might go a long way toward restoring trust in truth in photos again. We could also have the same thing for AI. Marked notification in the data on AI photos that can't be erased. Sorry if this is already underway and I'm just a normal person and therefore don't know it. I just want to be able to trust things again. 🤷🏽‍♀️

App Preview rejected for “framing” but screenshots appear full screen. What could Apple mean?
Hello, My app update was rejected under Guideline 2.3.4 (Accurate Metadata) with the note that the app preview includes “framing around the video screen capture.” Apple attached four images to the review. I reviewed them carefully, and they appear to show full screen gameplay without borders or visible background. I am attaching two of those images here for reference. I am trying to understand what Apple might be interpreting as “framing” in this case. Has anyone encountered a similar rejection where the preview looked full screen but was still flagged? Any insight into what reviewers typically expect or what subtle issues might trigger this would be very helpful. Thank you.

coreaudio-api mailing list search broken
Hello, The search functionality of the coreaudio-api mailing list archive has been broken for a very long time. Several of the lower-level audio APIs have only been discussed on this mailing list, making it critical for those of us maintaining old audio code. Steps to reproduce: Open https://lists.apple.com/archives/list/coreaudio-api@lists.apple.com/ in your web browser. Enter a search term in the "Search this list" field in the top-right corner of the page. The search will eventually time out with "502 Bad Gateway" Can somebody please forward this information to the current maintainer? I've tried to contact developer support but they weren't sure what to do. Thanks!

Localizing NSAlarmKitUsageDescription
I've added NSAlarmKitUsageDescription to Info.plist and InfoPlist.xcstrings. The localized string is being used when I run the app, but Xcode is marking the string as "stale" in InfoPlist.xcstrings. This doesn't occur for any of the other UsageDescription strings in our app, such as NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription and NSSiriUsageDescription. This occurs in both Xcode 26.2 and Xcode 26.3 RC. Is this a known issue? Should I just mark the string as being managed "Manually" instead of "Automatically" to make the warning go away?

NSStagedMigrationManager Merging Steps
Hello, I have 3 model versions and I'm trying to step through migration. Version 2 makes significant changes to v1. As a result, I've renamed the entities in question by appending _v2 to their name, as the data isn't important to retain. v3, remove's the appended version number from v2. Setting the .xcdatamodeld to v3 and the migrations steps array as follows causes the app to error [ NSLightweightMigrationStage([v1]), NSLightweightMigrationStage([v2]), NSLightweightMigrationStage([v3]), ] CoreData: error: <NSPersistentStoreCoordinator: 0x10740d680>: Attempting recovery from error encountered during addPersistentStore: 0x10770f8a0 Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=134110 "An error occurred during persistent store migration." An error occurred during persistent store migration. Cannot merge multiple root entity source tables into one destination entity root table. I find this odd because if I run the migration independently across app launches, the migration appears to drop the no longer used tables in v2, then re-add them back in v3. So it seems to me that something is not finishing completely with the fully stepped through migration. -- I'm also unable to understand how to use NSCustomMigrationStage I've tried setting it to migrate from v1, to v2, but I'm getting a crash with error Duplicate version checksums across stages detected

No response from Apple Developer Support since 25 January (Email & Call both not working)
Hello, I am writing here to seek guidance regarding an ongoing issue with Apple Developer Support, as I have not received any response through any official support channel. Since 25 January, I have: Raised multiple support tickets and emails via App Store Connect Tried to contact Apple Developer Support by call (the call option is visible in my account) Scheduled/requested calls where applicable However: No email responses have been received No calls are coming through, even after requesting/scheduling There has been no acknowledgement or update on my issue Due to this, my issue remains completely unresolved, and I currently have no way to follow up or escalate. I would like clarification on the following: Why there has been no response since 25 January, despite multiple attempts Why the call option is visible but no call is received What is the correct escalation process when both email and call support are unresponsive Whether there is an expected response timeline for such cases My intention is not to raise a complaint, but to understand how I can properly communicate with Apple Developer Support and receive guidance on my issue. If any Apple representative or developer who has experienced a similar situation can provide direction, it would be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time and support.

Intrinsic content/system fitting size not propagating up to hosting controller.
Overview I have the following view hierarchy that mixes SwiftUI and UIKit: AccordionView └─ VStack ├─ Text ├─ Button └─ UIViewRepresentable └─ UIStackView ├─ UILabel └─ UILabel When tapping the button, the UIViewRepresentable hides and shows its content. This all works as expected. However, in certain circumstances the view's sizing is rendered with the correct size, but the text can often render incorrectly, despite the frame seemingly looking as though it has enough room to render the text. More info Below you can see the UILabel has the correct frame height (the light grey background and coloured borders) but the text is rendered as though it has infinite width along one line. There's a few configurations of my view hierarchy that seem to have this effect. I've added a playground to the bottom of this post of various configurations to show what does and doesn't work, just copy and paste to see for yourself... It seems of the ones that don't work, there's a couple of reasons why that may be: HostedView and TextViewContainer do not do the following (I think we only need to do one of these things for auto layout/stack views to work effectively): a) implement an intrinsic content size b) return a 'good' size for systemLayoutSizeFitting(). UIHostingController shouldn't use intrinsic size (although I'm sure it should) Something related to setting setContentCompressionResistancePriority() or setContentHuggingPriority() but having played about with this it doesn't seem relevant here... I've played around with everything I can think of here but can't find a solution that works for all, although I'm 99% sure it's one or all of the points above. If there are any UIKit gurus out there that can help that would be great! Ive already spent so much time on this 🫨 Playground Swift Playground

UserDefaults.standard losing all data on iOS26
Hello. We are facing very silent and hardly replicable issue. All UserDefaults.standard data the application saved and was using to determine the state of app is lost and app behaves as if it was freshly installed. The issue always occurs only if we leave app on background for long time or if we manually swipe the app from the background apps. In case we swipe, this issue can occur in minutes, hours or up to 2 days by our latest testing. One important factor is that the app was developed using iOS18 in which issue never occured. Next it was being tested on iOS26 and it did everytime. Any currently available version of iOS26 reported this issue, all the way up to 26.2.1 (23C71). Our application is going through major upgrade of its whole lifecycle and services so it is possible this issue is caused by a bug in development as the production version does not report this issue neither on iOS26 of any version. The following list contains how we tried to fix this issue but none of which helped. App prewarming in the background (postpone all initialization including searching UserDefaults.standard for when isProtectedDataAvailable) Calling UserDefaults.standard.synchronize() everytime after saving data despite it is not recomended Built app using different SDK's (tested on iOS18 and iOS26 SDK) Distributed the app from local machine aswell as on TestFlight itself We searched through currently opened and closed issues for third-party libraries app uses regarding 'iOS26' and 'UserDefaults', especially those who were added recently with no success. The structure using which we save data into UserDefaults.standard did not change, we have only added few more settings to save through the lifecycle of the app after update. We estimate the overall increase is merely 30% more of what it used to be in previous version. Any ideas are much appreciated. We are considering to use different or fully custom ways to store app's settings.
