BLE Scanning
iOS BLE Background Scanning Stops After Few Minutes to Hours Hi everyone, I'm developing a Flutter app using flutter_blue_plus that needs continuous BLE scanning in both foreground and background. Foreground scanning works perfectly, but background scanning stops after a few minutes (sometimes 1-2 hours). Current Implementation (iOS) Foreground Mode: Scans for 10 seconds with all target service UUIDs Batches and submits results every 10 seconds Works reliably ✅ Background Mode: Rotates through service UUIDs in batches of 7 Uses 1-minute batch intervals Maintains active location streaming (Geolocator.getPositionStream) Switches modes via AppLifecycleState observer // Background scanning setup await FlutterBluePlus.startScan( withServices: serviceUuids, // Batch of 7 UUIDs continuousUpdates: true, ); // Location streaming (attempt to keep app alive) LocationSettings( accuracy: LocationAccuracy.bestForNavigation, distanceFilter: 0, ); Lifecycle Management: AppLifecycleState.paused -> Start background mode AppLifecycleState.resumed -> Start foreground mode Questions: Is there a documented maximum duration for iOS background BLE scanning? My scanning stops inconsistently (few minutes to 2 hours). Does iOS require specific Background Modes beyond location updates to maintain BLE scanning? I have location streaming active but scanning still stops. Are there undocumented limitations when scanning with service UUIDs in background that might cause termination? Should I be using CoreBluetooth's state preservation/restoration instead of continuous scanning? Info.plist Configuration: <key>UIBackgroundModes</key> <array> <string>bluetooth-central</string> <string>location</string> </array> Additional Context: Total service UUIDs: ~20-50 (varies by company) Scanning in batches of 7 to work around potential limitations Android version works fine with foreground service Location permission: Always iOS 14+ target Any insights on iOS BLE background limitations or best practices would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is it necessary to submit the app for review and complete the review process in order to respond to the age restriction survey?
Or, can we consider the response completes once the prompt disappears? I will write down the sequence of events in order. A prompt appeared on our app's page asking us to respond to the survey. However, likely because the app hadn't been updated for many years, the “Edit” option for age restrictions was not displayed; instead, “View” was shown. After creating a page for the new app version, “Edit” appeared. We hadn't planned to release the new version to the App Store at this time, but we only created the new page to respond to this survey. After entering “edit” and answering the age restriction survey, the prompt disappeared. I contacted Apple Support to find out if just answering would suffice, but they told me to submit the app for review. However, as mentioned above, we have no plans to modify and release this app. Since it's an old app, I updated the environment, built it, and submitted it, but issues were pointed out. (I think it's because it's an old app.) When I asked the Apple Review team the same question as at the beginning, they suggested I post it here. Many thanks!

Live Activities widget extension does not reflect updated SwiftUI UI (custom views/assets appear ignored)
Hello Apple Developer Technical Support, I’m following up on case #102807413324 and submitting this as a code-level support request. We are integrating iOS Live Activities (ActivityKit + WidgetKit extension written in SwiftUI) into an Expo/React Native app. We’re seeing behavior where the Live Activity UI shown on the Lock Screen appears to “stick” to an older layout and ignores updated SwiftUI code and/or bundled assets, even after rebuilding, reinstalling, and removing existing Live Activities before testing again. Environment Device: iPhone 13 iOS: 26.2 macOS: 15.7.3 (24G419) Xcode: 16.4 (16F6) Expo SDK: 52 React Native: 0.76.9 expo-live-activity: ^0.4.2 Build type: Ad-Hoc signed IPA (EAS local build) Summary We have a WidgetKit extension target (LiveActivity.appex, bundle id: stimul8.LiveActivity) using ActivityConfiguration(for: LiveActivityAttributes.self). The extension contains multiple SwiftUI views selected via a “route” (derived from deepLinkUrl / title / subtitle), and uses images/backgrounds from the extension asset catalog (Assets.xcassets). We also support loading images from an App Group container with a fallback to the asset catalog. After shipping updates, the Live Activity UI shown on the Lock Screen continues to resemble an older/default layout (example: a progress-bar-like element remains visible even after removing ProgressView usage from LiveActivityView.swift). Some custom backgrounds/images also fail to display as expected. Routing (examples) /streak -> StreakLiveActivityView /streak-urgent -> StreakUrgentLiveActivityView /lesson/create -> AILessonLiveActivityView1 /lesson/reminder -> AILessonLiveActivityView2 default -> LiveActivityView Steps to reproduce (high-level) Install/build and trigger a Live Activity. Modify the SwiftUI layout in the extension (e.g., remove ProgressView and change obvious UI elements), rebuild, and reinstall. Remove any existing Live Activities from the Lock Screen, then trigger a new Live Activity again. Observed: Lock Screen Live Activity still renders the prior/older-looking UI and/or ignores updated assets. Troubleshooting already done Verified the extension (LiveActivity.appex) is included in the IPA and properly signed. Verified Assets.car is present in the extension and PNG assets are present in the build artifacts. Ensured SwiftUI source files used by the extension are overwritten during prebuild so the intended versions are present in ios/LiveActivity. Cleared DerivedData related to LiveActivity builds. Reinstalled the app and removed existing Live Activities from the Lock Screen before re-triggering new ones. Questions Is there any known caching behavior where Live Activities can continue to display a previous UI layout after an app/extension update, even when the activity is re-created? Are there recommended steps to force the system to load the newest widget extension binary/UI beyond reinstalling and removing existing Live Activities? What’s the recommended way to confirm which exact extension binary/UI version is being rendered on-device (e.g., specific Console logs, sysdiagnose signals, or other indicators)? Are there any known constraints with Assets.xcassets usage for Live Activities that could cause bundled assets not to render even when present? We can provide A minimal reproduction Xcode project (preferred) The IPA build Build logs (Xcode/EAS) Screenshots/video and a sysdiagnose captured after reproduction Thank you for your guidance. Best regards

Can't find IAP/Subscriptions section for new build
Hello communities, I am going to submit a new binary build with subscriptions. However, I cannot find the In-App Purchases and Subscriptions section like before. Is there any update on this? Despite the fact that the subscriptions were accepted and banking & agreements were set up, I still can't figure out how to include them in the binary build. Thanks for the advice.

UserDefaults.standard losing all data on iOS26
Hello. We are facing very silent and hardly replicable issue. All UserDefaults.standard data the application saved and was using to determine the state of app is lost and app behaves as if it was freshly installed. The issue always occurs only if we leave app on background for long time or if we manually swipe the app from the background apps. In case we swipe, this issue can occur in minutes, hours or up to 2 days by our latest testing. One important factor is that the app was developed using iOS18 in which issue never occured. Next it was being tested on iOS26 and it did everytime. Any currently available version of iOS26 reported this issue, all the way up to 26.2.1 (23C71). Our application is going through major upgrade of its whole lifecycle and services so it is possible this issue is caused by a bug in development as the production version does not report this issue neither on iOS26 of any version. The following list contains how we tried to fix this issue but none of which helped. App prewarming in the background (postpone all initialization including searching UserDefaults.standard for when isProtectedDataAvailable) Calling UserDefaults.standard.synchronize() everytime after saving data despite it is not recomended Built app using different SDK's (tested on iOS18 and iOS26 SDK) Distributed the app from local machine aswell as on TestFlight itself We searched through currently opened and closed issues for third-party libraries app uses regarding 'iOS26' and 'UserDefaults', especially those who were added recently with no success. The structure using which we save data into UserDefaults.standard did not change, we have only added few more settings to save through the lifecycle of the app after update. We estimate the overall increase is merely 30% more of what it used to be in previous version. Any ideas are much appreciated. We are considering to use different or fully custom ways to store app's settings.

Family Controls entitlement not applying to DeviceActivityMonitor and ShieldConfiguration extensions
I have the Family Controls & Personal Device Usage entitlement approved for my main app target, but I'm unable to get it applied to my app extensions (DeviceActivityMonitor and ShieldConfiguration). The entitlement request form at developer.apple.com/contact shows "Thank you for your submission" when I submit requests for the extensions, but the requests never actually register. No follow-up email, no change in my account. Without the entitlement on these extensions, I can't use the core Screen Time API functionality (monitoring device activity and displaying shield UIs when apps are blocked). The main app target has the entitlement, but the extensions need it independently to function. Has anyone run into this? Is there a way to get the entitlement extended to app extensions, or is there a step I'm missing in the provisioning process?

Localizing NSAlarmKitUsageDescription
I've added NSAlarmKitUsageDescription to Info.plist and InfoPlist.xcstrings. The localized string is being used when I run the app, but Xcode is marking the string as "stale" in InfoPlist.xcstrings. This doesn't occur for any of the other UsageDescription strings in our app, such as NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription and NSSiriUsageDescription. This occurs in both Xcode 26.2 and Xcode 26.3 RC. Is this a known issue? Should I just mark the string as being managed "Manually" instead of "Automatically" to make the warning go away?

External payment providers for users in Russia when In-App Purchases are unavailable
Hello, I have a question regarding payments for iOS apps in Russia. Currently, In-App Purchases are not available or do not work for many users in Russia, making it impossible for them to purchase digital subscriptions or digital content via Apple IAP. Is it allowed to: use an external payment provider available only in Russia, show this option only to users located in that region, and unlock access to digital content after payment is completed outside the app (for example, via a web page), in cases where Apple IAP is technically unavailable? Is there any official guidance or exception for regions where Apple IAP cannot be used? Thank you.

No response from Apple Developer Support since 25 January (Email & Call both not working)
Hello, I am writing here to seek guidance regarding an ongoing issue with Apple Developer Support, as I have not received any response through any official support channel. Since 25 January, I have: Raised multiple support tickets and emails via App Store Connect Tried to contact Apple Developer Support by call (the call option is visible in my account) Scheduled/requested calls where applicable However: No email responses have been received No calls are coming through, even after requesting/scheduling There has been no acknowledgement or update on my issue Due to this, my issue remains completely unresolved, and I currently have no way to follow up or escalate. I would like clarification on the following: Why there has been no response since 25 January, despite multiple attempts Why the call option is visible but no call is received What is the correct escalation process when both email and call support are unresponsive Whether there is an expected response timeline for such cases My intention is not to raise a complaint, but to understand how I can properly communicate with Apple Developer Support and receive guidance on my issue. If any Apple representative or developer who has experienced a similar situation can provide direction, it would be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time and support.

macOS: Is ARKit-equivalent face tracking possible with an external camera?
Hello, I am an individual developer working on a macOS application using SwiftUI and RealityKit. I would like to understand the feasibility of face-related tracking on macOS when using an external USB camera, compared to iOS/iPadOS. Specifically: • Does macOS provide an ARKit Face Tracking–equivalent API (e.g., real-time facial expressions, gaze direction, depth)? • If not, is it common to rely on Vision / AVFoundation as alternatives for: • Facial expression coefficients • Gaze estimation • Depth approximation • In an environment without dedicated sensors such as TrueDepth, is it correct to assume that accurate depth data and high-fidelity blend shape extraction are realistically difficult? Any clarification on official limitations, recommended alternatives, or relevant documentation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Error generating domain certificate
I’m having an issue verifying a domain for a Merchant ID. I’m implementing Apple Pay on the web for a demo, and I’ve configured the Azure server to match Apple’s requirements for domain verification, such as the TLS configuration, not requiring client certificates, and ensuring there are no redirects. I’ve run tests with OpenSSL and PowerShell and all responses return HTTP/1.1 200 OK. I also tested the URL Apple says it uses to validate the file under .well-known, and it does show the expected result. I already have the Apple Pay Payment Processing Certificate and the Apple Pay Merchant Identity Certificate approved; the only thing missing is the domain verification. I’m not sure what else to test—if you could help me with a possible solution, I’d really appreciate it. (The project is built in .NET 8 and hosted on Azure App Service.)

Request for Assistance Apple Developer Account Approval Delay
Dear Apple Developer Support Team, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek assistance regarding my Apple Developer account, which is still pending approval. It has been several weeks since I completed the registration process and submitted all the required information, but I have not received any confirmation or update yet. We understand that the review process for Apple Enterprise Developer Accounts requires strict verification to ensure platform security and compliance, and we fully respect and cooperate with all the review standards and procedures formulated by Apple. According to the public information and practical experience of Apple’s developer program, the conventional review cycle for enterprise developer accounts is 2-4 weeks. However, as of today, more than a month has passed since we submitted the application, and we have not received any confirmation, feedback, or update on the review progress, either via email or phone. The delay in the account approval has gradually affected the normal work progress of our sales team. Our sales staff are unable to use the dedicated internal applications to carry out customer follow-up work efficiently, which has brought certain obstacles to our daily business development and customer service quality. We are very anxious about this and sincerely hope to get your help and attention. Here, we kindly request the Apple executive team and the relevant review department to assist us with the following matters: Please inquire and inform us of the current review progress of our enterprise developer account application, including whether it is in the review stage, the reasons for the delay (if any), and the estimated time for completing the review and approval. 2. If there is any missing information, unqualified materials, or additional verification required for our application, please inform us at your earliest convenience. We will immediately arrange a special person to supplement and improve the relevant materials to expedite the review process. We have prepared all the relevant supporting materials (including D-U-N-S number, business license, legal person authorization documents, etc.) as required during the application process, and we are willing to actively cooperate with any further verification work arranged by Apple. Apple has always been a benchmark in the global technology industry, and we have always admired and trusted Apple’s products and services. We sincerely hope that with your help, we can complete the approval of the enterprise developer account as soon as possible, so as to better support our business development and provide better services to our customers. Thank you very much for your precious time and attention. We sincerely look forward to your prompt reply and will be grateful for your support and help.

App Store Small Business Program review delay after confirmation email - retroactive or approval-based
Thread title: App Store Small Business Program review delay after confirmation email - retroactive or approval-based? Post message: I applied to the App Store Small Business Program and received the confirmation email with the subject “We’ve received your request to join the App Store Small Business Program”. It has now been over two weeks with no further updates. I understand there may be a high volume of requests, but the lack of transparency or timeline is problematic, as every additional day directly affects my costs. I contacted Apple Developer Support to confirm that my application was received, but the reply didn’t clarify the actual review status or expected timeframe. I would like to ask others who recently went through this process: Are you experiencing similar delays in the review process? How long did the approval take in your case? Is the Small Business Program commission applied retroactively from the application submission date, or only from the approval date? If it’s retroactive, the delay is less critical. If it’s applied only after approval, the urgency is obvious. Is there any official way to escalate or get clarity in cases where the review is stalled? From your experience, is it acceptable or normal for developers to be left without feedback on a financially sensitive matter like this? I’m trying to determine whether this situation is normal or something that requires further action.
