XcodePreviews cleared actual app data
I've been developing an advanced gps tracking tool and had over 500 miles of data collected in the local storage of my test app. Recently, I used the XcodePreviews app to use my device to test UI updates as I was making them. To my surprise, doing this cleared all the data from my actual test app. Has this happened to anyone else before? Is there a way to recover my lost data? Why does this happen? I've verified that this is always clearing my app data. I tested by adding data to my actual test app then launching XcodePreviews - only to find that my app data has been cleared.

XCode26.2 ld: Assertion failed: ((ct == Atom::ContentType::objcConst) || (ct == Atom::ContentType::objcData) || (ct == Atom::ContentType::constData) || (ct == Atom::ContentType::constText)), function ObjCClassReadOnlyDataRef, file Atom.cpp, line 329
Dear Apple engineers: My previous project was successfully compiled using Xcode 16.2. Now, I need to adapt it to Xcode 26. I know that the linker in Xcode 26 has undergone significant changes. So, in the 'Other Linker Flags' configuration of the Build Settings in the project engineering of Xcode 26.2, I deleted '-ld64' and added '-Xlinker -dead_strip -Xlinker -dead_strip -allow_dead_duplicates' to adapt to the new linker of Xcode 26. After the modification, when I compiled my project engineering using Xcode 26.2 compiler, I encountered a new linker error. The error log is attached. Regarding this error, how should we solve it? Thank you. XCode26.2BuildErrorLog.txt

iOS app submission stuck in Waiting for Review for 45 days
Hello, I’m posting here in hopes of getting some help or advice regarding our app submission, which has now been stuck in “Waiting for Review” status for 45 days. We submitted our iOS app on Dec 12, 2025, and since then there has been no movement in the review process. This app is important for our business. The delay is now starting to affect our plans significantly. We called Developer Support, hoping to get some clarity or assistance. Unfortunately, the responses we received were generic and didn’t provide any concrete solutions or timelines. We understand the review process can take time, but 45 days with no progress or transparency feels excessive—especially considering the app was submitted under a developer account that has had previous successful submissions without issue. Here’s a quick summary: • Initial submission: Dec 12, 2025 • Current status: “Waiting for Review” If anyone from the App Review team happens to see this, or if any fellow developers have deal with a similar issue recently and have advice, we would greatly appreciate your insights. This delay is putting real pressure on our timeline, and we’re doing everything we can to resolve it. Thank you for your time and support.

Payment pending for weeks to access the Developer Program
Hi, My payment has been pending since early January to join the developer program in spite of the mention that it should be processed in a couple business days. This is preventing me from moving forward with my app. I see several similar issues on the Forum but no answer to my issue. Any thoughts on how to speed up this process? Any help would be much appreciated!

Xcode 26: `IDERunDestination: Supported platforms for the buildables in the current scheme is empty` repeatedly logged when running tests from `.xctestrun` file
We are seeing repeated occurrences of the following log line in test runs triggered via .xctestrun files on iOS 26: IDERunDestination: Supported platforms for the buildables in the current scheme is empty. This line is printed n number of times after a test fails, significantly increasing test execution duration (2–3 minutes extra in some cases). The issue does not occur when tests are built and run together from Xcode directly — it’s specific to .xctestrun-based executions using xcodebuild test-without-building. Steps to Reproduce: Use Xcode 26 to build a sample XCTest target (we used a simple UI test project). Locate the generated .xctestrun file under DerivedData/.../Build/Products/.... Run tests using: xcodebuild -xctestrun /path/to/sample.xctestrun \ -destination "id=<device_id>" \ test-without-building Observe the logs during test failure. Observed Behavior: The log line IDERunDestination: Supported platforms for the buildables in the current scheme is empty appears multiple times. The test cleanup and teardown phase takes significantly longer (2–3 minutes). Expected Behavior: The log should appear once or not at all. Test cleanup time should remain consistent. Additional Information: Affects only iOS 26 devices and .xctestrun-based runs. Not reproducible on iOS < 26. Xcode 26 and 26.x beta versions tried. Reproducible both locally and on CI systems using real devices. Same .xctestrun file, when used on older OS versions, does not cause delay.

App Clip Advanced Card with URL Redirects - Custom Branding Per Location
Hello Apple Developer Community, I'm working on implementing App Clips for a restaurant platform and need guidance on configuring custom App Clip experiences using URL redirects. Context: We have multiple restaurant locations, each needing branded App Clip cards (custom image, title, subtitle). With hundreds of tables across many venues, creating individual App Clip experiences for each table in App Store Connect isn't scalable. Currently: Using a single, generic App Clip experience for all locations => https://example.com Desired Flow: Customer scans QR code at restaurant table ↓ https://example.com/123 ↓ iOS fetches URL ↓ Server responds with 302 redirect ↓ https://example.com/brands/le-pain-quotidien?venue=abc123 ↓ iOS displays App Clip card with "Le Pain Quotidien" branding ↓ User taps "Open" → App Clip launches with correct context What I've Tried: Configured multiple App Clip experiences in App Store Connect Implemented 302 redirects from short URLs to branded URLs Tested various redirect configurations without success Questions: Does iOS fetch and follow redirects before displaying the App Clip card, or does it only use the originally scanned URL? What App Clip experience URLs should be configured in App Store Connect for this redirect scenario? Are there specific HTTP headers or redirect requirements for iOS to properly recognize the final destination? Should the App Clip experience be registered for example.com/123 or example.com/brands/le-pain-quotidien? Reference: Apple's documentation suggests this is possible: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/AppClip/configuring-the-launch-experience-of-your-app-clip#Use-short-URLs-or-redirects Has anyone successfully implemented custom App Clip cards using URL redirects? Any guidance on the correct configuration approach would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Is It Still Possible for Indie iOS Apps to Thrive in 2025?
Once, the App Store empowered indie creators - small teams could launch great apps and find users easily. But in 2025, that era feels long gone, with algorithms, big players, and pay-to-win discoverability reshaping everything. Is there still a real chance for indie iOS developers today, or has Apple’s evolving ecosystem made independent success nearly impossible?

iOS fails to fetch AASA file for IDNs
Subject: iOS Fails to Fetch AASA File for Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) in Unicode or Punycode Format Dear Apple Developer Relations Team And Community Members, We are reporting a critical bug in the iOS Associated Domains feature that prevents Universal Links from working for apps using Internationalized Domain Names (IDN). Problem Description: The iOS operating system does not attempt to download the apple-app-site-association (AASA) file for domains containing non-ASCII characters (e.g., diacritics, Cyrillic). This failure occurs regardless of whether the domain is specified in the app's entitlements in its human-readable Unicode format (e.g., montréal.ca) or its encoded Punycode format (e.g., xn--montral-fya.ca, xn--e1afka0abm4b.xn--p1ai). Without fetching and validating this file, Universal Links are not activated, and the system fails to establish a connection between the website and our app. Steps to Reproduce: Create an app with the Associated Domains entitlement enabled. Add an IDN to the entitlement. We tested both formats: Format A (Unicode): applinks://montréal.ca Format B (Punycode): applinks://xn--montral-fya.ca Host a valid AASA file on our server at the correct, accessible well-known URLs for both domain representations: For montréal.ca: https://montréal.ca/.well-known/apple-app-site-association and https://xn--montral-fya.ca/.well-known/apple-app-site-association Install the app on a device running the latest iOS version. Monitor network traffic using a tool like Charles Proxy. Observed Result: No HTTP GET request is made to any of the AASA URLs for the domains montréal.ca (in either Unicode or Punycode format) upon app installation. The system does not initiate the domain validation process. In contrast, for a standard ASCII domain (e.g., applinks://example.com), the AASA fetch is triggered immediately and is observed in the network log. Expected Result: iOS should correctly resolve the Internationalized Domain Name (whether specified in Unicode or Punycode format in the entitlement) and perform an HTTP GET request to fetch the AASA file from the /.well-known path, identical to its behavior for ASCII domains. Evidence & Configuration: Our server is configured correctly: SSL certificates are valid, the AASA file is served with the correct application/json MIME type, and is directly accessible via a browser or curl. The AASA file's syntax has been validated and is correct. The issue is reproducible on the latest versions of iOS. Impact: This bug blocks a core platform feature for millions of users in regions that use non-Latin scripts (e.g., France, Russia, China, Arab states). It makes it impossible to use Universal Links with our primary domains, severely degrading the user experience and forcing us to seek suboptimal workarounds like registering separate ASCII domains. Request: We kindly request that you investigate and log this issue as a bug in iOS and forward it to the appropriate engineering team for a fix in an upcoming update. We are prepared to provide any additional information, demo projects, or server access to assist in diagnostics. Thank you for your attention to this serious matter.

No service and no complaints procedure
Hi, I requested a callback for Developer support as I was trying to set up a new Apple Developer account for my employer. As this was a new business for Apple, looking to create an Apple Developer Premium account, I thought Apple might be even slightly interested in helping answer some key questions. I requested a callback. The page claimed they would be 'calling shortly'. No call came. So, I requested another callback... The page again claimed they would be 'calling shortly'. Yet again, no call came. Later, I requested yet another callback... The page again claimed they would be 'calling shortly'. As is the norm, no call came. I called Apple support main telephone number, and they explained that this was a failing of their system on their part, hurrah... that was correct. But they told me they could not deal with my issue as it was a developer support issue. I already have a developer account anyway, so really they should be supporting me, I already PAY them! So normal support could only help in so far as they were able to tell me what I already know, the Apple developer support system does not work. The thing is, nobody at Apple actually cares about this. They don't really care about anything, as is clear by the lack of means to escalate issues. So, I sent an email instead, through their website form. I received no response. The next day, I requested another callback, no call came. I sent another email, and got no response. It is totally exasperating that Apple have no functional complaints system at all, and is damning of the origination. It is perfectly clear that they regard users, and customers, with abject contempt. Now I am going to have to write a snail mail letter to their CEO in the USA in the hope that they given more of a damn than those they preside over.

Trailing closure passed to parameter of type 'Int' that does not accept a closure
I have TabView in ContentView and I want to add TabView for OnboardingView in OtherView, every things work, but it is throw error for TabView in OtherView like "Trailing closure passed to parameter of type 'Int' that does not accept a closure" I do not know why? Any idea? iOS 26: keyboardLayoutGuide does not give the correct constraint
In iOS 26, keyboardLayoutGuide does not provide the correct constraint when using third-party input method. A demo’s source code is attached to FB18594298 to illustrate the issue. The setup includes: An inputAccessoryView above keyboard An input box anchored to the top of the inputAccessoryView using the following constraint: [self.view.keyboardLayoutGuide.topAnchor constraintEqualToAnchor:self.inputBoxContainerView.bottomAnchor] Expected Behavior: Before iOS 26, when keyboard toggled by clicking the input box, the input box should move above the inputAccessoryView. Actual Behavior: However, on iOS 26, when switching to a third-party IME (e.g. 百度输入法baidu,搜狗输入法sogou,微信输入法wechat), then click the input box, the input box is above the keyboard instead of the inputAccessoryView, and is covered by the inputAccessoryView.

SpriteKit scene used as SCNView.overlaySKScene crashes due to SKShapeNode
I recently published my first game on the App Store. It uses SceneKit with a SpriteKit overlay. All crashes Xcode downloaded for it so far are related to some SpriteKit/SceneKit internals. The most common crash is caused by SKCShapeNode::_NEW_copyRenderPathData. What could cause such a crash? crash.crash While developing this game (and the BoardGameKit framework that appears in the crash log) over the years I experienced many crashes presumably caused by the SpriteKit overlay (I opened a post SceneKit app randomly crashes with EXC_BAD_ACCESS in jet_context::set_fragment_texture about such a crash in September 2024), and other people on the internet also mention that they experience crashes when using SpriteKit as a SceneKit overlay. Should I use a separate SKView and lay it on top of SCNView rather than setting SCNView.overlaySKScene? That seemed to solve the crashes for a guy on stackoverflow, but is it also encouraged by Apple? I know SceneKit is deprecated, but according to Apple critical bugs would still be fixed. Could this be considered a critical bug?

LocationButton (SwiftUI) broken or changed in iOS 26?
I just spend the morning debugging LocationButton and the associated CLLocationManagerDelegate only to realise that it works perfectly in iOS 18.5 but no longer works for me in iOS 26.0, 26.2 or 26.2.1 (the latter on-device). It does work when I run my app on macOS 26.2 (Designed for iPad). Is there a change in behaviour or requirements on iOS I am missing? On iOS 18.5 I observe that the authorisation status changes from .notDetermined to .authorizedWhenInUse after the LocationButton has been tapped and my delegate is able to obtain the location through locationManager(_ , didUpdateLocations:). On iOS 26.x the authorisation status remains .notDetermined and my delegate receives locationManager(_:didFailWithError:) with error code .denied. Setting NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription in my Info.plistdid not help. Just in case ;) FB21798098 (SwiftUI LocationButton fails to acquire authorization on iOS 26)

Icon Composer showing werid images
Hey guys! I downloaded Apple’s Icon Composer to build my iOS 26 app icon. I exported my SVG from Illustrator (and verified it through Canva and the W3C validator). However, when I import it into Icon Composer, it looks really weird . There are these bubble-like artifacts appearing in the center. Here's my orignal svg icon file trace-logo.txt Any help will be appreciated! Best, Justin

Public and Private Tags
IMPORTANT Improvements in the New Post form have eliminated the gotcha described below. DevForums has the concept of public and private tags: Public tags are available to everyone, per the rules outlined in Developer > Support > Developer Forums. Private tags are limited to a specific set of developers. The canonical example of a private tag is Universal App Quick Start, which is only available to folks who had an Apple silicon DTK. If you have access to any private tags, the New Post form has an extra field, Post Visibility. Its default value is Private but you can switch it to Public. The Tags field adjusts accordingly. So, if you select Private you only see a limited set of private tags. Use these if your post is about one of those private topics. OTOH, if your post is about a public topic, change Post Visibility to Public and apply the appropriate public tags.
