While implementing Apple Maps into our web application, I have a scenario where I want to be able to drag and move some of my custom annotations around. While that is working, when "picking up" the annotation before dragging it, there is an animation which I believe is to represent the human interaction of picking up a pin from a map, I would like to cancel that animation and thought that would be possible by calling preventDefault() in the emitted long-press event, which the documentation states that annotations should emit if they are draggable. The thing is that I don't get this event to emit when long pressing an annotation. So I believe that I have found a bug. It's in this paragraph in the documentation https://developer.apple.com/documentation/mapkitjs/handling-map-events#Respond-to-map-interaction-events A long press occurs on the map outside an annotation. A long press may be the beginning of a panning or pinching gesture on the map. You can prevent the gesture from starting by calling the preventDefault() method of the event. Annotations need to be draggable to dispatch long-press events. In anybody else experiencing this or do you see any clear fix for this? Maybe there is another way to cancel that "picking up the annotation for dragging" animation. I have seemed to try anything else.

Description When creating an Apple ID via the web form, if the user’s chosen password contains their own name, the server correctly returns an error (e.g., "Password cannot contain your name") in the PUT request's JSON response. However, this error is not shown on the frontend, leaving users unaware of why the form silently fails or stalls. Steps to Reproduce Go to the Apple ID account creation page (https://appleid.apple.com/account). Enter valid account details where the password includes the user's first or last name (e.g., Johnacb2331!l for a user named John Doe). Complete all fields, including phone number verification and captcha. Submit the form and monitor the Network tab in your browser’s DevTools. Observe that the form appears to hang, loop, or silently fail. Open the PUT request to /account — the response JSON will contain the relevant validation error (e.g., “Password cannot contain your name”), but the user is not shown this. Expected Behavior The password validation error (e.g., containing the user’s name) should be immediately displayed in the UI next to the password field to inform the user and allow for correction. Actual Behavior No error is shown in the UI. The form appears to fail silently, leaving the user confused. The actual reason for failure is only visible through browser developer tools in the PUT response payload. I've been using Sign In with Apple for Web for the last six months, and it works well enough. Now, I'm updating the domain of the main application (we got the .com! yeah!) However, I can't find a way in the configuration UI to update the allowed redirect URLs for the application. I go to Identifiers -> My App -> Capabilities -> Sign In with Apple -> Edit button. It just allows me to edit whether this is a primary ID, or grouped ID, plus a callback URL (which I'm not currently using.)

I build websites and my current build has seven videos on the first page built with the html 'video' tag. The page renders on all browsers and Android and on Safari on my mac but on my iPhone safari they appear black and then play correctly when clicked. This has changed since the last update.

Hello, I have an authentication flow where my app communicates with a backend protected by F5 client certificate validation. The client certificate is distributed via MDM and is available in the device keychain, but not accessible directly from the app. When using ASWebAuthenticationSession (or SFSafariViewController) Safari can successfully pick up and present the certificate during authentication, so that part works fine. However, the backend’s authenticate endpoint only supports a POST request with an Authorization header, whereas ASWebAuthenticationSession only accepts a GET URL when starting the session. My questions are: How is this type of flow typically implemented in iOS? Should the backend provide a GET-based endpoint that redirects into the POST, or is there a recommended iOS pattern (e.g., an intermediate HTML page that does the POST after certificate validation)? Are there Apple guidelines on handling certificate-based auth with ASWebAuthenticationSession when the API requires POST, especially for In-House distributed apps? Any guidance or best practices would be very helpful.

I am trying to build and run a Safari Web Extension from Xcode and I have enabled "Allow unsigned extensions" in Safari settings. However, I see the below pop up: And, if click on the "Quit and Open Safari Extensions Preferences..." button, the project stops running on Xcode and nothing happens. What can be the issue? The extension works and runs fine if I get it from the Mac App Store and this only happens when running from Xcode. I even tried completely uninstalling the mac app store version and still facing the same issue.

I'm trying to use DNR to force safe search with Qwant search engine. Under certain circumstances (scenario described below) the search is performed with an API which contains the safe search level in a URL parameter. A typical query URL is https://api.qwant.com/v3/search/web?q=test&count=10&locale=fr_FR&offset=0&device=desktop&tgp=1&safesearch=0&displayed=true&llm=true. What I Need Help With: I want to launch the App Clip from a custom button click, using either: The default App Clip URL, or The website URL (e.g., https://appclip-sand.vercel.app/customer) with additional query parameters like userId or sessionId. MacOS: 12 ( Monterrey ) Safari: 17.6 Demo Site: https://applepaydemo.apple.com/ At the bottom where the Apple Pay button should appear, I see a warning something like "This browser doesn't support Apple Pay, please use safari" along with a link to requirements for apple pay. All the requirements are fulfilled, OS and Safari's version are above the minimum required. Link was opened in Safari. And the other thing is if I open the same site in Chrome, I can see the apple pay button and when I click on it a QR appears which is the expected behaviour. How to resolve this?

I'm trying to load a webpage in that application through our plugin using a WKWebView & I set my class as the navigationDelegate for the same. I do not receive any callbacks for the WKNavigationDelegate methods. I have debugged & made sure that the navigationDelegate is actually set to my class. In the safari or chrome app, when I want to change tabs, I can go into a grid view of the tabs. In this grid, each tab shows the content of the page. When I click on one of the tabs, the content of the page expands to fill the entire screen (and shrinks when I go back to grid). I'm creating my own browser and I'm trying to replicate this same functionality. I'm using WebKit on XCode 16.4, iOS 18. However, I'm unable to figure out how Chrome and Safari did this. First, I thought that I could take a snapshot of the page and then use that image as the thumbnail. However, very often the image is of the wrong size - likely due to the webview shrinking for the animation. Making the animation wait until the image is made available did help in making it more consistent. The above errors happen whenever I spam the new tab and then click the tab grid button. It only is misaligned on the very last new tab. A DNR rule with lower priority is being applied before a DNR rule of higher priority on Safari. Specifically, a low-priority DNR block rule that matches a request is being applied before a high-priority DNR redirect rule that matches the same request, preventing the redirect from occurring. The only way to get the high-priority redirect rule to occur is to remove the DNR block rule. This does not occur on other browsers. I have already submitted a Feedback Assistant report about this bug: FB16535579 How to reproduce: Create/install a web extension on Safari with the declarativeNetRequest and declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess permissions Open the Web Extension Background Content console and add a redirect rule with a high priority number. I have confirmed that the incorrect application of DNR rule priority happens on other top level domains, with other urlFilters, and with other redirect URLs. I confirmed that this is happening while I’ve granted my extension permissions on all websites.
