Hi everyone,
I’m not sure if this is the right place for it, but I wanted to share a bit of my background and ask for advice from developers who’ve been in the industry longer than me.
I started learning to make games when I was a kid using Game Maker.
Later I got into Unity and even worked a few years as a solo developer for small startups — building Unity apps, VR projects, AR demos, websites, servers, everything.
But I never had a real team, never had mentorship, and none of the projects I worked on ever reached production or real users.
Life changed and I moved to the US, where I had to switch careers completely.
Now I’m trying to come back to software development, but I’m struggling with a feeling that I’m “not good enough” anymore.
The tech world has moved so fast, and companies like OpenAI, Meta, Epic, etc., feel way out of reach.
So my question to the community is:
How did you get started in your career?
Did you ever feel like you weren’t good enough?
How did you push through that and continue improving?
Any honest advice would help a lot.
Thanks.

My swift student challenge submission is an iPad app built in Xcode and I'm planning on selecting the Xcode 26 option for testing in the dropdown provided in the application. Just have to confirm that the run destination for the playground in Xcode will be an iPad simulator right? Recently I have seen many participants post their submission screenshot for iPhone renders so just wanted to confirm the run destination.
Thank you👾
Every week or so, mouse driver locks up. The LED laser goes out and none of the buttons operate. It's a generic 7 button USB mouse with my USB keyboard still active. I do not know what precipitates the lockup and a system diagnostic request (Sft-Alt-Ctl-Cmd .) does not seem to yield anything useful.
> ps -ef|grep -i mouse
501 579 1 0 Mon01PM ?? 0:04.42 /System/Library/ExtensionKit/Extensions/MouseExtension.appex/Contents/MacOS/MouseExtension
code-block
so the mouse extension was running at the time. With a "sudo kill -HUP 579" it did not restart.
Also, switching to a different mouse did no good. The mouse driver was behaving like it was deadlocked and I didn't know the correct incantation for restarting it. I power cycle reset the box.
SO:
you have a mouse driver problem
it cannot be just me
It behaves like a deadlock, but not knowing how to get a mouse driver dump, I cannot tell what lock(s) its waiting for.
Hello
I was building my submission for contest and I noticed that my app built and ran fine on Xcode but didn't even build on swift playground, so should I be concerned about this, and where do the judges finally run and test our submitted playground is it in swift playground app or Xcode ??
I’m concerned because my iCloud account was recently migrated to AWS (Amazon Web Service) against my will, and now it seems.like people are rummaging through my files, photos, and mail, When I try to contact Apple Support, I get bumped to a spoofed site. Calling the hotline is the same, I get a Siri operator with platitudes and gaslighting but no action. I have run sysdiagnose and it looks really sketchy.
Can anyone help?
Hello, my name is Natalia, I'm Ukrainian.
Please tell me how to contact Apple to propose a new development?
It's more about a startup.
Hi @DTS Engineer
in tvOS 26.2 Beta is still this annoying Shadow Glitch… 😔
I have submitted an Bug-Report, but dont get an Answer… FB18719371
The Animation is not smooth and the Shadow is abruptly „jumping“…
I don’t get any Response from the Apple Engineers. But this GUI Glitch makes the otherwise very high-quality tvOS GUI appear very unprofessional.
Could you please help me? 🤔

I was working on my challenge submission but when I created a iOS swift playground through Xcode, the playground generated get's defaulted to iOS 18, and I can't use latest features like the new glass design seemlessely without using #if available macro's everywhere so I manually changed iOS 18.0 to iOS 26.0 in the package.swift file. So far there have been no problems but as the package.swift file recommends not to change it manually so am I in any problem can someone give me advice of whether it's a legit option ??
A few days ago I installed beta 1 of macOS 26 Tahoe on a spare MacBook Pro 14-inch M4. Everything went well, and it looks okay (well, I don't like it at all, but hey-ho), and I shut it down.
I started it up today, and it rejects my login password every time, then locks my account. When I click the link to "Restart and show password reset options" I'm asked for my Apple ID details, so I enter the correct email and password, then the MBP reboots and I'm back on the login screen with no indication that anything has changed.
Guess I'm stuck now... FB18364657

My app uses Foundation Models and Apple Pencil. The app runs great through Xcode; however, due to Apple Pencil support, it has to be run on a physical device. However, Swift Playgrounds on iPad doesn't support iOS 26. I was just wondering if this is something that can be mentioned in submission notes. eg. The app needs to be compiled in Xcode but run on a physical device.”
Or should we expect iPadOS 26 support for Swift Playgrounds by the time of submission?
Thank you!

«Hello everyone, after installing iOS 26, I noticed that on my iPhone 13 Pro, which had its battery replaced, the battery status in the settings shows 0%, and the phone does not charge more than 1%, no matter how long I leave it plugged in. The same problem is observed on iPhones 14 and lower where the battery (FB18154101) was replaced.»

Hi ,
since I've been trying out this latest beta, my battery life has dropped dramatically. I have an iPhone 16 Pro. It doesn't last until the evening. I didn't have any problems with version 4 before.
Thanks
Please expedite to Solve this bug , my Singpass is unable to launch in iOS 26. I believe this is more urgent than a new pride theme wallpaper 🏳️🌈

Is there a way to check whether third-party code can be inserted into parts of the ARM CPU architecture from outside? I have the paranoid impression that my MacBook Pro, M2 processor is being manipulated from outside. For example: Safari, when opened, displays pages scaled down without my conscious intervention, when clicked on the original size it scales back to normal for a short time and then implodes again; I use the navigation bar on the left excessively, it is my most important tool in Safari, today it was impossible to insert a link using drag & drop, the bar scrolls up or down very quickly; a behavior that I only know from Intel processors. For example, notes, I encrypted an important note, no problem even though photos and links are inserted, yesterday I could no longer open the note, neither on the MacBook Pro nor on the iPhone. When opening the notes app in the terminal on the MacBook Pro, an EXEC_CRASH report was generated. I have a terrible suspicion that the Apple branch in Munich is tampering with the devices and software of users in Germany. Sorry, I'm a big fan of Apple and its products, but this is very spooky. I just wanted to share my distrust with you!

Hello. I’m on iOS 26. I’m very protective over my children’s phone and use screen time religiously.
ios 26 does have delete history grayed out , but there’s a glitch! You’re able to swipe and delete history under the bookmarks history and tabs section.
Also if you type in a website like Walmart, it will bring it up and then allow you to swipe to the left and hit the red delete history and it shows up nowhere in your history!
please help me find a fix for this!!
i do allow safari but definitely want to be able to check the websites being viewed!!!
also - iOS 26 does not let u block apple.comunder your not allowed websites. Which means they can now use Apple Maps and third party browser on Apple.com for example under the simple weather app
before I had Apple blocked to where none of this could be accessed through stock apple apps!
i appreciate any help!!!

one of my app users cancelled the subscription from settings. After that, she tried to buy the subscription from app which she could not as I receive same transaction id and previous exp date.
Steps to Reproduce
make an outbound call
cover the sensor
Actual Behavior
the screen won't go dark
device iOS Result
iphone15 17 Pass
iphone14p 18.0.1 Pass
iphoneXs_pro max 18.1.1 Pass
iphone13pro max 18.2.1 Pass
iphone16pro 18.2 Fail
iphone15pro max 18.3 Fail
iphone12 pro max 18.3 Fail
ps: Skype has the same probelm
Seems like this issue only happens on iOS18.2+ on some devices, so is there a bug for this?
I'm preparing my submission for the Swift Student Challenge, and I have a couple of questions regarding the development environment.
Is it allowed to use Xcode to program my scene, or do I have to use Swift Playgrounds?
Can I use iPadOS 18 for development? I noticed that Swift Playgrounds currently only supports up to iPadOS 17.5, but I would like to use RealityView, which is only available starting from iPadOS 18.
I appreciate any clarification on this. Thanks in advance!

Hey team,
I have an app in CarPlay where i was pushing the CPNowPlayingTemplate as follows:
self.interfaceController.pushTemplate(CPNowPlayingTemplate.shared(), animated: true)
This used to work perfectly, but suddenly I have started to get this error
NSInvalidArgumentException: Unsupported object <CPNowPlayingTemplate: 0x119a0b5c0> <identifier: 6EE4E5A9-B1FB-4341-A485-78D7DDEBD8D0, userInfo: (null), tabTitle: (null), tabImage: (null), showsTabBadge: 0> passed to pushTemplate:animated:completion:. Allowed classes: {(
CPActionSheetTemplate,
CPAlertTemplate,
CPVoiceControlTemplate,
CPTabBarTemplate,
CPListTemplate,
CPInformationTemplate,
CPContactTemplate,
CPMapTemplate,
CPGridTemplate,
CPSearchTemplate
)}
How is this possible? Even on Apple docs, it says to pushTemplate
