Our app uses ASWebAuthenticationSession for login. This launches an incognito (ephemeral) browser window of the system’s default browser with the authentication URL. Currently, SFSafariExtensionManager.getStateOfSafariExtension only returns if an extension is enabled, but not if "Allow in Private Browsing" is toggled on. Is there an API in macOS 26 and Safari 19 that allows a native Safari App Extension to detect this specific permission?

iOS 26 (from beta 1 to beta 2) We have a VPN app that installs a per-app VPN profile with SafariDomains to filter Safari network traffic. This setup works as expected on iOS versions lower than 26.0. The error was: Unknown Error" Additional Details: Only SafariDomains encounter this error. Other managed apps traffic through the per-app VPN works correctly. Steps to Reproduce: Install the VPN app with a per-app VPN profile. Configure SafariDomains with any URL (e.g., example.com). Open Safari and navigate to the configured URL. Example Configuration: We tested with a simple example by adding only one URL to SafariDomains (example.com). Bit of an odd one here, just keen to understand if it’s just me or a more generic issue. For all other apps, I can drag the icon from the dock to place into stage manager left, centre or right. However when I try to do the same with Safari (and only Safari), it just doesn’t work at all. I can repeat this 100%, has been an issue with 26.0, 26.1 and now 26.2. Hi, I would like to share a finding and ask for a solution, if possible. This may be a potential bug with PointerMoveEvent on Safari on an iPad with Pencil Pro. I tested onPointerMove and onTouchMove in a <canvas> element in a React web app for freehand drawing using Mouse on a PC. Finger touch on iPad Apple pencil pro on iPad Finger touch on iPhone I was able to draw smooth curves in all cases except when using onPointerMove with Apple pencil pro on iPad. The curve drawn in this case looked like it was created using several straight-line segments. It seems like the sampling rate for PointerMoveEvent is lower than that of TouchMoveEvent on Safari I am not sure how to solve this problem or if it is an issue with Safari's interpretation of PointerEvents. My app has been published by 2 months now I still I cant get Universal Links to work. I checked a lot of docs as well as videos about setting up universal links. Everyone with clear steps: Add the well-known json file to the server. Already validated by AASA web validator. Add the Associated domain on project capabilities, with the Web page root only. Eg: applinks:example:com. Install the app and trying clicking a link from notepad. Or instead make a long press to deploy contextual menu to see if my app is on the selectable options to open the link. My app is not been open in any of my attempts and the console always trying to use safari. I had a couple of screenshots of my testing. I really need help with this.

Hi! My team and I are developing an education platform. One of our features is a auto-play flashcard feature where users can listen to their flashcards hands free. We are having an issue where the autoplay wont work for users with iPhone's. I think the rule is that user's are supposed to give consent to the auto-play. We do make the user hit play before it starts so that should be the "constent" but it's still not working. Anyone have ideas?

Hi. With update to 26.2 on my iPad the Favorites Bar has gone missing in Safari. "Show Favorites Bar" is selected in Apps -> Safari. I've emptied cache, deleted all history, etc in Safari. Restarted the iPad multiple times, but issues prersists. This issue is limited to my iPad. Favorites appear in both my iPhone and MacBook. Any ideas?

We are encountering a download issue in Safari 18.2 on macOS Sequoia 15.2 where file downloads initiated by our AngularJS application (such as Excel exports) are silently blocked. There are no errors in the browser console, and the download does not occur. Interestingly, after testing on Safari 18.3 with Sequoia 15.3, the downloads worked as expected. However, the problem reappeared on Safari 18.4 with Sequoia 15.4. We suspect that recent changes in Safari’s security or download handling may be preventing downloads triggered via asynchronous JavaScript (e.g., AJAX calls) that are not initiated directly by user interaction.
