It appears that a variable or object is attempting to access another object that has already been deallocated. Based on the stack trace, the issue was likely detected while layout was in progress.
Our analytics show this happens generally on app launch and occasionally during normal use.
Unfortunately, I couldn't gather additional diagnostic data. I tried to reproduce the issue using the Leaks tool and enabled runtime diagnostics (Address Sanitizer, Malloc Scribble, Zombies), but without success.
I may be overlooking something — any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance

Hello,
There seems to be a regression with macOS SDK 15 and dynamically loading libraries if Address Sanitizer is turned on. Seems to only affect Debug builds, and .frameworks. I've also reported this via the Feedback Assistant: FB16513866
Here's a minimal repro, if anyone is interested: https://gist.github.com/peter-esik/6b00432e411be85333e14ae7d953966e
I thought I'd post this here, as according to my web searches, this isn't a very well-known bug at this point.
Hi, anyone managed to make this work? https://developer.apple.com/documentation/backgroundassets
Trying for past few days and can't make it work. Following their official documentation, also this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3jpgZrB1uo, but it seems I am stuck at:
try await AssetPackManager.shared.ensureLocalAvailability(of: assetPack)
What I did:
Manifest files created, info.plist configured, asset pack created and uploaded to appstoreconnect via transporter, successfully assigned to app and ready for internal testing. Added to my code:
let assetPack = try await AssetPackManager.shared.assetPack(withID: "Tutorial")
try await AssetPackManager.shared.ensureLocalAvailability(of: assetPack)
let videoData = try AssetPackManager.shared.contents(at: "Videos/Introduction.m4v")
but no luck at all....
is anywhere any demo project available to download to compare with my project?
Hello,
I recently enrolled in the Apple Developer Program and created an App ID with the bundle ID com.echo.eyes.voice.
I am trying to enable Speech Recognition in the App ID capabilities list, but the option does not appear — even after waiting over a week since my membership was activated.
I’ve already:
Confirmed my Apple Developer account is active
Checked the Identifiers section in the Developer portal
Tried editing the App ID, but Speech Recognition is not listed
Contacted both Developer Support and Developer Technical Support (Case #102594089120), but was told to post here for help
My app uses Capacitor + the @capacitor-community/speech-recognition plugin. I need the com.apple.developer.speech-recognition entitlement to appear so I can use native voice input in iOS.
I would really appreciate help from an Apple engineer or anyone who has faced this issue.
Thank you,
— Daniel Colyer
Any time I attempt to download the latest beta of macOS 26, Safari stops the download at Zero KB, with no indication of why.
I'm able to download OS 26 beta 8 for the other platforms absolutely fine, just not macOS. Pressing the little orange "reload" button, just results in another copy of the same zero KB file bundle on the file system.
Can anyone help please?
I created 2 iOS projects in Xcode:
Project 1:
4 targets (main app + 3 app extensions)
4 static libraries
the main app's target dependencies include - 3 app extensions and the 4 libs.
the main app's binary is linked to all 4 libs
similarly, each extension is linked to all 4 libs
Project 2:
5 targets (main app + 3 app extensions + 1 framework)
4 static libraries
the main app's target dependencies include - 3 app extensions and the framework
each extension is dependent only on the framework
the framework's target dependencies include all the 4 static libs
As per my understanding, the app bundle size for Project 2 should be less than that of Project 1, since we eliminate duplicating the static libs for each target by using a framework instead.
However, I have found that the bundle size is more for Project 2 as compared to the bundle size of project 1.
I do not understand, why?
Hello.
On my app I have the necessity to use mergeable libraries, in my context my libraries are indirect dependency, in other words the dependency isn’t target in my project, and they are XCFramework where they are imported on Framework, Libraries, and Embedded Content session on my app target.
Following the documentation on Configuring your project to use mergeable libraries it said.

But on Manually configure merging don’t said how to configure to indirect dependencies.

So I have tried configure use the linker flag -merge_framework for each XCFramework using -Wl, -merge_framework, {XCFramework_Name}, but I am receiving the following error unknown argument: -merge_framework’ when build the release.
In app target is set build settings MERGED_BINARY_TYPE = manual;
The question is:
Is possible using mergeable libraries in XCFramework dependencies ? How I do this? Because on the doc is not clear how to use in indirect dependency like XCFramework.

Hi Guys,
I want to support my client for enable the developer mode, But they not accept to connect with any other devices(Mac Xcode) to enable developer mode.
They are nearly 10 people to enable developer mode. But I think without mac we can't enable developer mode in some of devices. So I need a clarification with IOS versions. That's only we are excepting to list out which IOS versions don't have developer mode option default. Please list out that IOS versions
Like below:
default developer mode available IOS 17.4.1
default developer mode not available IOS 17.5.1
A user of my app sent me a crash report. I have never seen one like this before. All of my app's symbols are replaced with three question marks (???)
Thread 0 Crashed:: Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
0 ??? 0x10844eb40 ???
1 CoreFoundation 0x7ff80f155518 __CFNOTIFICATIONCENTER_IS_CALLING_OUT_TO_AN_OBSERVER__ + 137
and the binary image as
0x0 - 0xffffffffffffffff ??? (*) <00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000> ???
so I cannot find out where exactly the crash happened.
What can cause this kind of crash report and can I do anything with it?

Hello,
According to the official documentation, the macOS Virtualization Framework currently supports only macOS and Linux guest operating systems. I would like to know if there is any way—officially or through a supported workaround—to run Windows 11 as a guest using this framework.
Additionally, is there any indication or roadmap suggesting that support for Windows guests might be introduced in a future release, such as in macOS 16?
Any insights or official clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
I'm on Mac Studio with Apple M1 Max and I recently upgrated to Sequoia 15.4. After that, Docker won't run anymore.
I tried almost all proposed solutions on the web to make Docker to work with Sequoia 15.4 (e.g. workaround at GitHub), without success.
Because of this, now I'm stuck in all of my development activities. For example, I cannot develop and deploy anymore my projects and applications.
What can I make to solve that?

My Xcode project has the following configuration:
1 iOS app target
1 Xcode framework target (mach-o-type "Dynamic Library")
5 static libraries
Dependencies:
All the static libraries are target dependencies of the framework.
The framework is the only target dependency of the iOS app.
For the iOS app target, within the General tab > Frameworks, Libraries & Embedded content, I've set the framework as "Do not embed"
So now I have a dynamic framework which won't be copied to the .app bundle in the build output.
As per my understanding, this should result in a runtime error, dyld should not be able to find the framework files as they were not embedded in the final .app bundle.
But regardless, my app runs without any errors, using all the methods exposed by the framework.
What is the correct understanding here?
What exactly does Embed/Do not embed mean (apart from excluding the files from .app bundle)
When both settings are specified, is there any priority or precedence of one setting over the other?
I'm trying to rewrite an old AppleScript mail rule that I used extensively as a Mail extension using the MailKit framework and I've run into an issue.
Previously, when developing the script, it was possible to debug it by selecting the message I wanted it applied to and choosing the Mail.app menu item "Message/Apply Rules"
This would re-execute my script and I could iterate over it as many times as I liked while developing.
I haven't found any great way of doing this for my extension with a MEMessageActionHandler. The closest I've found is to forward the message to myself and wait for it to come back in again over the internet, at which point the extension would get executed again. Needless to say, this makes debugging my MEMessageAction handler much slower.
I've tried a number of things in Mail.app to try and get it to re-execute my extension with a particular message without any luck. Does anyone know of a good process for debugging a MEMessageActionHandler that doesn't involve forwarding the message to myself over and over and waiting for it to come in each time?

We are looking for a platform or portal provided by Apple that allows us to track crashes, hangs, or other runtime issues faced by users while using our iOS/macOS application. This is similar to how we currently use Windows Error Reporting (WER) for our Windows application.
Important note: Our application is not distributed via the Apple App Store — it is delivered through enterprise distribution or ad-hoc provisioning.

I am trying to fix a bug in my iOS app that is dependent upon date and time. Is there any way to set the actual time on the iOS Simulator to a specific date and time? I know that you can set one for the status bar, but that doesn't affect the actual date and time that is reported by the system to apps.
When you have a mac, creating xcprivacy is pretty straightforward for your app, you simply use xcode, then select the sdks and target them and your privacy manifest is ready.
In the other hand, when you are using CI/CD solutions you might not use xcode direclty.
In that instance and if you are coding in flutter, you need to create your privacy manifest by hand.
I would like guidance how to write that file, I would it for a given third party SDK and where to put that file in the flutter project (just to be sure)
For example we choose the most important third party SDK manifest: FUTTER framework.
I keep getting errors about it for my app, got alot of builds get the INVALID BINARY error because of that, and my mails indicating me a problem with the manifest.
Please show me the source code of the manifest privacy for a project where a third party SDK is present (in particular: flutter sdk)
Thanks
My application always crashes at the same position when I open it on my iPad Air. It doesn't crash in debug mode which makes it very difficult for me to find the issue.

Hi, I have an iOS project with the following app targets:
main iOS application
a notification service extension
5 static libs containing some swift files with public methods
1 dynamic framework with above static libs as dependencies.
The framework only contains 2 files - a default .h file and 1 .exp file. This exports file contains mangled-names of all the public methods that are exposed by the 5 static libs present as framework's dependencies. I obtained these symbols using the nm command for each static lib.
The main iOS app target has 2 dependencies - the framework and the notification extension.
The notification extension only depends on the framework.
This setup works perfectly fine. I wanted to understand:
If using the exports file is the only way to make this setup work?
If not, what else can I do?
What way does Apple recommend?
According to my requirements, I only need at-most 2-3 functions to be exposed by the framework - thus using a exports file just for that seems to bug me.
Thank you.
