App Icon created with Icon Composer is empty for visionOS app
We are developing a universal app, and the app’s icon was created using Icon Composer.
Xcode 26, RC
visionOS 26 and visionOS 2.5
App Icons on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS are correct
We have archived the app for macOS and iOS and successfully uploaded it to the App Store.
This strongly suggests that the App Icon configuration in our project settings is correct for these platforms.
App Icon issue on visionOS
However, the visionOS app icon is not working as expected:
When testing on the Vision Pro simulator (versions 2.x and 26.0), the app icon appears empty.
When archiving and submitting to the App Store, the process fails with the following error:
The app’s Info.plist file is missing the CFBundleIcons.CFBundlePrimaryIcon key for the visionOS App Icon.
This suggests that the project’s App Icon settings may not be correctly applied for visionOS builds.
Request for assistance
We are preparing to release our app, one of the first to support Liquid Glass, and would greatly appreciate guidance on how to resolve this issue with the visionOS app icon.

I'm calling this command to export archive:
xcodebuild -exportArchive -archivePath .build/XYZ.xcarchive -exportPath .build/XYZ.ipa -exportOptionsPlist Authenticator/ExportOptions.plist -quiet -allowProvisioningUpdates
Here is my exportOptions file content
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>method</key>
<string>app-store-connect</string>
<key>signingStyle</key>
<string>automatic</string>
<key>teamID</key>
<string>ABCD</string>
</dict>
</plist>
Most of the time this command fail with this error:
error: exportArchive No Accounts
error: exportArchive No signing certificate "iOS Distribution" found
What we found is that our Apple ID just disappear from Xcode and we need to add it again manually.
So there are two questions here:
Why Apple ID account dissapears and how I can fix this?
Is there an option to not use Apple ID account in Xcode and for example to use -authenticationKeyID flags of xcodebuild?
Just to mention this happens only on our CI machine and not locally.

Title basically explains what my issue is, from what I understand the only way to set an icon in an tauri app is using a icns file, I could be wrong but I don't know how to get macos theme changing stuff to work with it because of the icns file.
Hi All,
I have an App on AppStore, recently the minimum supported version of the app was changed from iOS 12 to iOS 14.
Post that the TestFlight builds are crashing on launch.
If we revert the minimum supported iOS version to 12, the crash no longer happens.
This project is using cocoapods, and from the crash logs it seems the issue with with PLCrashReporter framework.
"EXC_CRASH" Termination reason: DYLD 9 weak-def symbol not found '__ZN7plcrash3PL_5async15dwarf_cfa_stateljiE10push_stateEv'.
This issue is happening only on TestFlight builds where the minimum supported version is 14.0
Any pointer to a solution is welcome.
I’m using iOS 26 right now, can’t go back to iOS 18 cuz I did not backup and my phone is so laggy right now i cant even turn off developer mode help me please

I developed an app using Unity and exported it as an iOS project file so that I could package it in Xcode. Now, I’m facing an issue where users who previously installed version 1.0 are still seeing the old version after installing the updated version 2.0. Although the installation process for version 2.0 appears to complete (with the installation animation), the app still opens as version 1.0. I am an individual developer but used enterprise signing for distribution. I’m quite confused and have looked into the issue—some sources mention it might be related to CFBundleVersion, but modifying it didn’t help. I’d really appreciate some help with this. o(╥﹏╥)o

Hi. I have an iPad 7th gen running iPadOS 14.8.1. For testing purposes, I want to upgrade it to the latest release of iPadOS 17, even though the device wants me to upgrade to iPadOS 18.5. Is there a way to upgrade it to iPadOS 17?
btw this would free-up a newer iPad running iPadOS 17 so I can install iPadOS 26 beta.
Thank you.

Hi all,
I’m developing a watchOS app and have seen cases where the app is terminated by the system — for example, due to CPU usage limits being exceeded (watchdog termination). Here’s a portion of one of the crash reports:
Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGKILL)
Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000
Termination Reason: CAROUSEL 2343432205
<RBSTerminateContext| domain:10 code:0x8BADF00D explanation:[app<app_name>:898] Failed to terminate gracefully after 5.0s
ProcessVisibility: Foreground
ProcessState: Running
WatchdogEvent: process-exit
WatchdogVisibility: Foreground
WatchdogCPUStatistics: (
"Elapsed total CPU time (seconds): 11.280 (user 9.800, system 1.480), 100% CPU",
"Elapsed application CPU time (seconds): 5.162, 46% CPU"
) reportType:CrashLog maxTerminationResistance:Interactive>
My questions:
1.) Is there any way to get notified (via Crashlytics, Xcode Organizer, or any other reporting mechanism) when this type of system-level termination happens — similar to how we’re notified of crashes?
2.)Is there any way for a watchOS app to receive runtime warnings from the system when it’s about to exceed CPU or memory limits — similar to UIApplication.didReceiveMemoryWarningNotification on iOS?
Thanks in advance!

I'm finding developing for HomeKit using the iOS Simulator utterly confounding.
All of my home's actual HomeKit accessories show up fine when I run the HomeKit app I'm developing on my actual phone. But none show up when I run my app in the iOS Simulator.
Maybe that's how it's supposed to be? I decided to run the HomeKit Accessory Simulator in an attempt to get something to show up in the iOS Simulator, but the accessories I've created there don't show up in the Simulator either.
How do I get devices to show up in the iOS Simulator?
Thanks.
Good morning everyone,
I am developing a Flutter app for Android and iOS.
When I press a button, the app detects the location of the device (obviously with permissions already granted).
On Android everything works correctly.
On iOS, however, when I press the button for the first time after opening the app, the location is detected after about 30-50 seconds.
On the other hand, if I repeat the operation later, the response time is drastically reduced (only a few seconds).
I am using the location package (https://pub.dev/packages/location), and the code to get the location is as follows:
var currentLocation = await location.getLocation();
Has anyone experienced this problem before or knows how to solve it?
Thank you very much!
Federico
My App is not compatible with iPhone 15 but can run on iPhone 14 perfectly fine, what could be the problem?
I am new to App development.
I am developing a Flutter app for food delivery (a multivendor e-commerce restaurant app).
In the vendor app (Android), I successfully implemented a background notification that stays active until the vendor responds with either Accept or Decline.
This works fine on Android, but I cannot get the same functionality working on iOS.
My requirements:
Vendor should receive a background notification.
The notification should include action buttons (Accept / Decline).
It should remain active until the vendor takes action.
My questions:
Is this possible to implement in iOS with Flutter?
If yes, what is the recommended way (e.g., firebase_messaging, flutter_local_notifications, flutter_foreground_task, or native iOS integration)?
Are there any iOS restrictions I should consider compared to Android background services?
I built this for Android using firebase_messaging + flutter_foreground_task + flutter_local_notifications.
On iOS, I tried setting up firebase_messaging and flutter_local_notifications, but I’m unable to keep the notification persistent with Accept/Decline action buttons.
I expected similar behavior to Android, but it seems iOS has more restrictions around background services and notification handling.
Dependencies I am using (relevant ones):
firebase_core: ^3.8.0
firebase_messaging: ^15.1.5
flutter_local_notifications: ^17.2.2
flutter_foreground_task: ^8.17.0
get: ^4.7.2
shared_preferences: ^2.3.2

I'm using Xcode 16.3 and I want to add the key "NSUbiquitousContainers" but I cannot do it in the Entitlements file, it should be in info.plist file! I have done it before but in previous versions of Xcode when the info.plist was in the project navigator.
However, now I cannot find the file and I did not find any way to create it!
Please guide me in detail how to proceed (I'm not new to Swift or SwiftUI but not familiar to project settings)?
Hello,
currently I am having trouble releasing an app because it crashes/does not launch on iOS 26.0.1. We have uploaded apps in the past so I tried building one of them with our current toolchain. I use Xcode 16.4, Kotlin version 2.0.0, LibGDX 1.13.1 and robovm/MobiVM 2.3.23. I uploaded the build to TestFlight and tested with physical devices running iOS 18.5 and 26.0.1. It runs fine on 18.5 but refuses to launch on the 26.0.1 device. I cannot retrieve a crash log or .ips file because none is written. When I write a Console log while the app crashes/does not launch I get no hints as to why it does so.
Do you maybe have additional ideas as to why it keeps not launching on iOS 26.0.1?

Hi Apple Engineers and fellow developers,
I'm a student developer working on an educational focus management app that helps users hide distracting apps during study sessions. The app consists of:
macOS app: Simple "Hide apps" button that triggers app hidding sessions
iOS app: Uses Screen Time API to temporarily hide selected apps from home screen
Communication: Bonjour networking between Mac and iPhone for session coordination
The Challenge
My app requires two entitlements that aren't available with Personal Developer Teams:
com.apple.developer.family-controls (for Screen Time API)
com.apple.developer.networking.multicast (for Bonjour device discovery)
Current Error Messages
text
Cannot create a iOS App Development provisioning profile for "focuser.focuser-app".
Personal development teams, including "My Name", do not support the
Family Controls (Development) capability.
Provisioning profile doesn't include the com.apple.developer.family-controls
and com.apple.developer.networking.multicast entitlements.
My Question for Apple Engineers
Is there any legitimate way to test these privacy-sensitive APIs on my own devices for educational/learning purposes without purchasing the $99/year Apple Developer Program membership?
I understand the security reasons behind these restrictions, but as a student just learning iOS development, it creates a significant barrier to experimenting with these technologies.

My Apple developer certificates(4 certificates) expire soon. I'm developing an application for iOS but the application is not yet released in the App Store, only Testflight releases for private testing.
Is it necessary to create 4 new certificates or can I edit the current certificates so that they don't expire soon?

unable to find developer runtimes in this list https://developer.apple.com/download/all/?q=simulator%20runtime
also, can see it's not being published since iOS 18.2 release, any specific reasons for it? or is the download link changed here?
