WeatherKit "Pricing and Additional Endpoints" question.
In the availability and pricing section, we have reviewed the plans and we will be upgrading to 50 or 100 million calls/month but before we do, we have a couple questions. Does the API have rate limit or throttling? Do you have additional weather forecast endpoints like hail, radar, or pollen forecast? I see in this thread https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/795642 that air quality is not available Thanks

Failed to set up credentials.
I received this message when trying to submit a build using Rork.com. Can anyone tell me what this is and how to fix it? Side loading an app
We have a .ipa file that we need to side load on iPhone via USB connected to a MAC. IPA file will be on MAC. We can't use enterprise license. We have a business use case where we need to side load the app. Any way to do that or can be reach apple support for this? Please help. Note: The iPhones attached will not have the Apple ID logged in. There are companies who are side loading the app for business purpose on the customers phone.

Are watchdog timeout terminations a crash or not?
If an iOS app gets terminated by watchdog due to, for example, hanging the main thread, is that considered to be a crash or something different. I'm asking because, according to google and AI, Crashlytics can detect and report these, but in my experience it does not. If I deliberately cause a watchdog termination by for example sleeping on the main thread for a long time then these never appear in Crashlytics. I know Apple folks here don't comment on non Apple software, so I'm not asking about Crashlytics, just wondering and interested about watchdog timeout terminations and how they differ from a "regular" crash.

Apple ID dissapears from Xcode and build is failing
I'm calling this command to export archive: xcodebuild -exportArchive -archivePath .build/XYZ.xcarchive -exportPath .build/XYZ.ipa -exportOptionsPlist Authenticator/ExportOptions.plist -quiet -allowProvisioningUpdates Here is my exportOptions file content <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>method</key> <string>app-store-connect</string> <key>signingStyle</key> <string>automatic</string> <key>teamID</key> <string>ABCD</string> </dict> </plist> Most of the time this command fail with this error: error: exportArchive No Accounts error: exportArchive No signing certificate "iOS Distribution" found What we found is that our Apple ID just disappear from Xcode and we need to add it again manually. So there are two questions here: Why Apple ID account dissapears and how I can fix this? Is there an option to not use Apple ID account in Xcode and for example to use -authenticationKeyID flags of xcodebuild? Just to mention this happens only on our CI machine and not locally.

MailCore.swift
Hi, is there a compiled version of MailCore.swift? I want to build an easy-to-use mail app for my mother, who is 97, has a MacBook Air, but Apple Mail is too complicated for her. chatGPT said I am too stupid to compile it by myself. Regards Stephan

Document Type Export / Import in Xcode - Shared via Messages
I’ve created a document type for my app and set it up in the Info Configuration in Xcode. This all works as expected: Implemented with the Transferrable API and ShareLink, I can share an app’s file via the Files app or Notes and then import the file via a Share extension and the fileImport swiftUI api. My question is regarding Messages, specifically. It appears as a ShareLink option and I’m able to send my app’s document type via a message, but I’m unable to open it or share it (internally, with my app), other than being able to forward or delete it. If I copy the file, I can’t access it within my app (it’s still stored in the Messages private bundle) and startAccessingSecurityScopedResource returns false as expected. The message does detect the right icon, so it’s recognizing the custom document type. If my Share Extension, exported document type, and transferable implementation is configured correctly, should I be able to open a file for my app shared via Messages? Is this an allowed action? I get various answers from AI, and I can’t test this in the Simulator on pre-26 devices.

An Apple Developers Rant.... (So upset...)
Hello Everyone, (and I hope folks at Apple are listening) So around a year ago, I decided to take on the challenge of creating my own Iphone App from scratch. I am an engineer by trade, and thought it would be a fun interesting experience, and maybe make some money on the side. So I bought a macbook, and focused on learning Swift for the next few months. Lots of really great developer folks helped me along the way. And I could not have been successful without so much help. It is very much appreciated. So I finished the app, created my own company. And deployed it to the Istore. Unfortunately, just no interest, I think I sold like 4 copies. No problem, still got to learn a lot along the way. So when it came time to renew my developer licence, I let it expire. Just did not make any sense to drop another $100 into it, since only 4 copies had sold in a year. And then..... this happened!!!! I attempted to use the App that was installed on my own Iphone.... and got the message "My Apps Name" is no longer Available. and it stops... The code is on my phone. I am fully aware that I can no longer use xcode to put anything else on my iphone without a developer licence. But for Apple to reach into my own Iphone, and deny my access to something that I already created, (and in theory already paid for) is just infuriating!!! I checked, and even though it no longer exists in the IStore, purchased copies still seem to function. (one person that bought a copy was a friend of mine). So do I really need to drop another $100, puchase an actual copy of MY OWN APP from the app store, just to have it on my own phone again???!!! So much money and time went into this, that I am considering just smashing every apple product I own, and go with Android instead. I am a single person developer. Almost no one does this sort of thing anymore. Apple used to be the place where innovators could come to try to make something cool and fun to use. I guess not any more. Dan

How to implement background notifications with action buttons (Accept/Decline) in iOS Flutter app?
I am developing a Flutter app for food delivery (a multivendor e-commerce restaurant app). In the vendor app (Android), I successfully implemented a background notification that stays active until the vendor responds with either Accept or Decline. This works fine on Android, but I cannot get the same functionality working on iOS. My requirements: Vendor should receive a background notification. The notification should include action buttons (Accept / Decline). It should remain active until the vendor takes action. My questions: Is this possible to implement in iOS with Flutter? If yes, what is the recommended way (e.g., firebase_messaging, flutter_local_notifications, flutter_foreground_task, or native iOS integration)? Are there any iOS restrictions I should consider compared to Android background services? I built this for Android using firebase_messaging + flutter_foreground_task + flutter_local_notifications. On iOS, I tried setting up firebase_messaging and flutter_local_notifications, but I’m unable to keep the notification persistent with Accept/Decline action buttons. I expected similar behavior to Android, but it seems iOS has more restrictions around background services and notification handling. Dependencies I am using (relevant ones): firebase_core: ^3.8.0 firebase_messaging: ^15.1.5 flutter_local_notifications: ^17.2.2 flutter_foreground_task: ^8.17.0 get: ^4.7.2 shared_preferences: ^2.3.2

iOS 18.5 crash with iPad 7 only
Weirdness going on here. Our app is crashing on startup with iPad 7s running iOS 18.5. Before updating to iOS 18.5, it was working fine on iPad 7s. Even with iOS 18.5, it is working fine on every device we have tried including dozens of other iPads and iPhones. We have narrowed it down to the SquareReaderSDK. If we remove that SDK, it will launch and work without issues. But, many of our users need the SquareReaderSDK. The crash happens at app load, before appDelegate didFinishLaunchingWithOptions. So we can't figure out any way to debug the issue. Is anyone else having a similar issue? Square thinks it is an Apple issue.

Help Analyzing Crash Logs – Auto Layout Threading Violation, Memory Pressure, CPU Usage
We're facing critical stability issues with a Xamarin-based iOS warehouse management app and need expert validation of our crash log analysis. We’re seeing recurring issues related to: Auto Layout Threading Violations Memory Pressure Terminations CPU Resource Usage Violations These are causing app crashes and performance degradation in production. We've attached representative crash logs to this post. Technical Validation Questions: Do the crash logs point to app-level defects (e.g., threading/memory management), or could user behavior be a contributing factor? Is ~1.8GB memory usage acceptable for enterprise apps on iOS, or does it breach platform best practices? Do the threading violations suggest a fundamental architectural or concurrency design flaw in the codebase? Would you classify these as enterprise-grade stability concerns requiring immediate architectural refactoring? Do the memory logs indicate potential leaks, or are the spikes consistent with expected usage patterns under load? Could resolving the threading violation eliminate or reduce the memory and CPU issues (i.e., a cascading failure)? Are these issues rooted in Xamarin framework limitations, or do they point more toward app-specific implementation problems? Documentation & UX Questions: What Apple-recommended solutions exist for these specific issues? (e.g., memory management, thread safety, layout handling) From your experience, how would these issues manifest for users? (e.g., crashes, slow performance, logout events, unresponsive UI, etc. JetsamEvent-2025-05-27-123434_REDACTED.ips ) WarehouseApp.iOS.cpu_resource-2025-05-30-142737_REDACTED.ips WarehouseApp.iOS-2025-05-27-105134_REDACTED.ips Any insights, analysis, or references would be incredibly helpful. Thanks in advance!

On demand module download
I am working on an iOS app and I want to achieve on demand module download inside the app when the user clicks on the module icon which he wants to use. The idea is that we have a super app consisting of multiple modules say four independent apps/features and I want to separate each one so that when the user selects a specific app/feature, it’s downloaded on demand and then opened directly within the same super app resulting in a lower app size initially I want to upload all the code of all modules to app store connect but when the user downloads the app, then only one module's code should be available to the user, the rest of the module's code should be downloaded when the user wants to use that module. I know apple restricts downloading new code but in my case I want to upload all the code to app store for review but just give option to the user to get rest of the code when needed. Any guidance, architectural advice, or example implementations would be highly appreciated.

Unable to Add Font to Asset Catalog as a Font Set (Appearing as "Data")
Hi Support Team, I am new here. I am unable to add my fonts to the asset catalog there is no option to add new font set when I click the plus sign. When I drag my files in they show up as data. I have a Contents.json in the font folder called BeVietnamProFont.font. Is there something I am doing wrong? Thanks SO much! { "info": { "version": 1, "author": "xcode" }, "properties": {}, "fonts": [ { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-Black.ttf", "weight": "black", "style": "normal" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-BlackItalic.ttf", "weight": "black", "style": "italic" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-Bold.ttf", "weight": "bold", "style": "normal" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-BoldItalic.ttf", "weight": "bold", "style": "italic" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-ExtraBold.ttf", "weight": "heavy", "style": "normal" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-ExtraBoldItalic.ttf", "weight": "heavy", "style": "italic" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-ExtraLight.ttf", "weight": "ultralight", "style": "normal" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-ExtraLightItalic.ttf", "weight": "ultralight", "style": "italic" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-Light.ttf", "weight": "light", "style": "normal" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-LightItalic.ttf", "weight": "light", "style": "italic" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-Regular.ttf", "weight": "regular", "style": "normal" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-Italic.ttf", "weight": "regular", "style": "italic" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-Medium.ttf", "weight": "medium", "style": "normal" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-MediumItalic.ttf", "weight": "medium", "style": "italic" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-SemiBold.ttf", "weight": "semibold", "style": "normal" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-SemiBoldItalic.ttf", "weight": "semibold", "style": "italic" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-Thin.ttf", "weight": "thin", "style": "normal" }, { "filename": "BeVietnamPro-ThinItalic.ttf", "weight": "thin", "style": "italic" } ] } ![]("https://developer.apple.com/forums/content/attachment/56835f04-d1c1-468f-808b-9a786562d367" "title=Screenshot 2025-07-13 at 1.05.05 PM.png ;width=539;height=630")

SystemData and IOS Images
Hi, I’m trying to free up space on my computer and have uninstalled Xcode. However, I noticed that many large files remain on the filesystem even after uninstalling it. The largest remaining files (~33 GB) are iOS Simulator images located at: /System/Volumes/Data/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes I attempted to delete them using root privileges, but it seems that these system files are mounted as read-only. I’m reaching out to ask for guidance to ensure that these files do not contain anything important for macOS, and that it’s safe to remove them before getting in recovery mode. Thank you very much for your advice!

macOS 15.6: Opened package is not the same at install time
I've created an installation package and it is failing to install on macOS 15.6. The package is, I believe, properly notarized, since it will install correctly on other macOS versions, including 15.5 The only clue I have is the output from installer: installer[8015] : Opened package is not the same at install time installer[8015] : Unable to use PK session due to incompatible packages. Terminating. installer[8015] : Install failed: The Installer could not install the software because there was no software found to install. The installer consists of a a single "component" package, and the outer "product" package. The component package is present, and I can successfully run installer manually to install it, so I don't think the component package is corrupt. Has anyone else encountered this? Are there any tools available to help me diagnose the issue? The logging is not helpful.
