AppleScript access to "Show on all Spaces" Wallpaper setting
I am creating scripts to automatically switch the wallpapers on my multiple displays. System Events exposes almost all of the options accessible in the Wallpapers pane of system settings, but not the option to "Show on all Spaces". I want to add that option to the following script: tell application "System Events" set intervalSeconds to 900.0 set wpDir to POSIX file "/Path/to/Folder/" set picture rotation of every desktop to 1 set random order of every desktop to true set pictures folder of every desktop to wpDir set change interval of every desktop to intervalSeconds do shell script ("killall Dock") end tell Also, the foregoing script does not seem to successfully set the interval value, although it does not throw an error. Not sure why that does not work. Any thoughts or insights would be welcome. Thank you

How to update multiTokenContexts if ApplePayPaymentRequest does not initialize multiTokenContexts
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/apple_pay_on_the_web/applepaypaymentrequest/3955945-multitokencontexts According to this document, I know that I can initialize a multiTokenContexts when initializing ApplePayPaymentRequest. But I am now facing a tricky problem. If the user's order does not require multiTokenContexts, then I will not initialize this field when I first make ApplePayPaymentRequest. When the user is in the payment process, I may update multiTokenContexts. But this time, the update is not allowed, ApplePay will be cancelled and the payment will be closed. For example, if the user's address in Apple Pay is different, I need to update multiTokenContexts to support the payment of goods to multiple merchants, which will generate an update of multiTokenContexts. MultiTokenContexts can be updated in the onshippingcontactselected method. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/apple_pay_on_the_web/applepaysession/1778009-onshippingcontactselected My question is that from the beginning, there was no multiTokenContexts to update multiTokenContexts in onshippingcontactselected, which would cause the user to close the payment and need to manually click to pay again. This user experience is not very friendly. Is there a better way for me to go from no multiTokenContexts to multiTokenContexts without interrupting the user's payment process?

PKAddPaymentPassError
please bear with me, i am NOT a developer. we have third party developer creating a banking app that is throwing an error when trying to provision MasterCard for Apple Pay. MasterCard says they do not see the request come in at all. our developer says the issue is between mastercard and apple - and asked us to reach out to Apple. Information provided from our developer: “Error code 2 is 'system cancelled' from the PKAddPaymentPassError enum. Basically, there is an issue between Apple and Mastercard (using the encrypted card info from...” Response from Mastercard Connect: Upon further research with the examples you shared we are not seeing any attempt that reached to MC

Network Relay errors out with "Privacy proxy failed with error 53"
I'm using NERelayManager to set Relay configuration which all works perfectly fine. I then do a curl with the included domain and while I see QUIC connection succeeds with relay server and H3 request goes to the server, the connection gets abruptly closed by the client with "Software caused connection abort". AppStore response times for the store test environment to make purchases is very long.
I enter the payment wall, there it takes more or less 3 to 4 minutes to show the plans, when I select the monthly plan the loader is shown and from there the pop up to make the purchase in sandbox does not appear, I have waited until a maximum of 50 minutes and it is not shown, I go back and close the app I do the same steps and I am still there, without showing the pop up. Doing this same process in xcode, everything happens immediately without any interruption.

Mic Button in Microsoft Web Chat Control Unresponsive in WKWebView After App Returns from Background (iOS)
We are integrating the Microsoft Web Chat Control inside a WKWebView in our iOS application. The microphone button (used for speech input) works as expected when the app is active. However, we are facing an issue when the app is sent to the background and then brought back to the foreground. Issue Details: When the app returns from background to foreground: 🔹 The mic button becomes unresponsive (taps are not recognized). 🔹 No permission prompt or speech functionality is triggered. 🔹 Other elements of the Web Chat control continue to work fine. This issue seems isolated to iOS and WKWebView usage. We have verified that microphone permissions are granted and there are no system-level blocks. Technical Inquiry about CoreBluetooth Scanning
Issue: We noticed inconsistent BLE device discovery times (ranging from 0.5s to 1.5s) despite the peripheral advertising at 2Hz (500ms interval). Questions: Does iOS regulate the BLE scan interval or duty cycle internally? If yes, what factors affect this behavior (e.g., foreground/background state, connected devices)? Are there recommended practices to reduce discovery latency for peripherals with fixed advertising intervals? Is there a way to configure scan parameters (e.g., scan window/interval) programmatically, similar to Android's BluetoothLeScanner? Test Context: Device: iPhone 13 mini (iOS 17.6.1) Code: CBCentralManager.scanForPeripherals(withServices: nil, options: [CBCentralManagerScanOptionAllowDuplicatesKey: true])

NSMetadataQuery not searching subdirectories in external ubiquity container
Testing Environment: iOS 18.4.1 / macOS 15.4.1 I am working on an iOS project that aims to utilize the user's iCloud Drive documents directory to save a specific directory-based file structure. Essentially, the app would create a root directory where the user chooses in iCloud Drive, then it would populate user generated files in various levels of nested directories. I have been attempting to use NSMetadataQuery with various predicates and search scopes but haven't been able to get it to directly monitor changes to files or directories that are not in the root directory. Instead, it only monitors files or directories in the root directory, and any changes in a subdirectory are considered an update to the direct children of the root directory. Example iCloud Drive Documents (Not app's ubiquity container) User Created Root Directory (Being monitored) File A Directory A File B An insertion or deletion within Directory A would only return a notification with userInfo containing data for NSMetadataQueryUpdateChangedItemsKey relating to Directory A, and not the file or directory itself that was inserted or deleted. (Query results array also only contain the direct children.) I have tried all combinations of these search scopes and predicates with no luck: query.searchScopes = [ rootDirectoryURL, NSMetadataQueryUbiquitousDocumentsScope, NSMetadataQueryAccessibleUbiquitousExternalDocumentsScope, ] NSPredicate(value: true) NSPredicate(format: "%K LIKE '*.md'", NSMetadataItemFSNameKey) NSPredicate(format: "%K BEGINSWITH %@", NSMetadataItemPathKey, url.path(percentEncoded: false)) I do see these warnings in the console upon starting my query: [CRIT] UNREACHABLE: failed to get container URL for com.apple.CloudDocs [ERROR] couldn't fetch remote operation IDs: NSError: Cocoa 257 "The file couldn’t be opened because you don’t have permission to view it." "Error returned from daemon: Error Domain=com.apple.accounts Code=7 "(null)"" But I am not sure what to make of that, since it does act normally for finding updates in the root directory. Hopefully this isn't a limitation of the API, as the only alternative I could think of would be to have multiple queries running for each nested directory that I needed updates for.

SwiftData shared across apps?
The stuff I've found by searching has confused me, so hopefully someone can help simplify it for me? I have an app (I use it for logging which books I've given away), and I could either add a bunch of things to the app, or I could have another app (possibly a CLI tool) to generate some reports I'd like.

What are the criteria for CLVisit in CoreLocation?
There is no official documentation specifying the exact criteria for determining a CLVisit. For example, if a user starts at a target location, will the following method be called? func locationManager(_ manager: CLLocationManager, didVisit visit: CLVisit) This did not work during my testing. It was only successfully triggered when starting from a distant location and arriving at the target point. It would be helpful to know the exact conditions, such as how long a user must stay at a location for it to be considered a visit. Are there any specific thresholds (e.g., minimum duration, distance moved) that determine when this method is triggered?

Show Price Increase Consent
I'm currently still on StoreKit 1, and am testing the paymentQueueShouldShowPriceConsent delegate function. In my local .storekit file, I have a renewable subscription set up with a promotional offer. My test flow is as follows: User subscribes to renewable subscription Let subscription auto-renew once or twice User subscribes to renewable subscription with promotional offer with significant price reduction Promotional offer lapses and price increases to normal Expect paymentQueueShouldShowPriceConsent delegate function to trigger However, #5 never does get invoked, despite re-trying the subscription and promotional offers in various configurations. Manually triggering the Request Price Increase Consent option in the Xcode StoreKit transactions list does invoke the delegate function, but letting the promotional offer lapse does not. My storefront is set to Korea, and my simulator region is set to Korea as well. According to the documentation here and here, consent is required for all price increases in Korea. Is there some way I could check if things are working as intended?

macOS + ARM + USB/C to get VCP code from external monitor via IOAVServiceReadI2C
Good morning, I'm encountering reliability issues with DDC/CI communication when using USB-C connection. Initially using ddc-hi (which uses this package), I ran into several issues that I've partially resolved but still need help addressing. Environment OS: macOS Display Connection: USB-C for _ in 1 ... (numOfRetryAttemps ?? 4) + 1 { for _ in 1 ... max((numOfWriteCycles ?? 2) + 0, 1) { usleep(writeSleepTime ?? 10000) success = IOAVServiceWriteI2C(service, UInt32(ARM64_DDC_7BIT_ADDRESS), UInt32(dataAddress), &packet, UInt32(packet.count)) == 0 } if !reply.isEmpty { usleep(readSleepTime ?? 50000) if IOAVServiceReadI2C(service, UInt32(ARM64_DDC_7BIT_ADDRESS), 0, &reply, UInt32(reply.count)) == 0 { success = self.checksum(chk: 0x50, data: &reply, start: 0, end: reply.count - 2) == reply[reply.count - 1] } } if success { return success } usleep(retrySleepTime ?? 20000) } The result from IOAVServiceReadI2C is not reliable in some cases. Do we have any other API to get VCP code from monitor like Intel version done. The previous APIs weren’t working anymore on the M1 GPU, the IOFramebuffer was now an IOMobileFramebuffer and the IOI2C* functions weren’t doing anything.
